Y/n L/n... A nice guy. Just a shame that nobody around him ever really saw that. I first met him when he was just a kid. 7 years old as I recollect. The cause of his first death was abuse. His dad had too much to drink one night and he beat the poor kid to a pulp, eventually strangling him to near death. I still remember how he reacted to meeting me.

When he "woke up", I was sat beside him. It broke my heart when I had to work with kids. No child deserved to be taken so soon in their life. Y/n was terrified when he saw me, crawled back into a corner to get away. But when I came up to him, gently pried his arms away from his head and looked into his eyes... He broke down into tears and threw his arms around me. I returned the hug, but I felt a warmth from his soul. He wasn't fully dead yet. At the end of his stay, he told me he wished to stay with me, to move on into the afterlife. I ruffled his hair and told him one day, we'd stay together. I hugged him one last time before he returned.

Ever since then, I've been watching over him while tending to my duties as Death. I watched him grow up, get into high school, get harassed and bullied, graduate and get into a job which paid far too less for the work he put in. And everyday he lived, all he wanted was to meet me again. It felt horrible, knowing that even with his second chance in life, his life wasn't worth living in his eyes.

So when the time comes... I don't know what to do...
