A/N this chapter is dedicated to......... chickengirl02 ! You are such a fabulous writer and I aspire to be as good as you, buddy! I also love how supportive you are of us and how you are just an awesome friend! Anyway, this chapter is dedicated to you, so I'm going to make sure that it's as fabulous as you are!
My mind was absolutely boggled. I raised an eyebrow and leaned back in my chair, breathing kind of heavy. Then I noticed that Lilith and Henry were staring at me. "Are you okay?" Lilith asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, well it was sort of a lie I guess, "I think I'm just going to go to the bathroom."
"Okay," Henry replied, still with a concerned look in his eyes. I quickly stood up and rushed off to the bathroom. I swung open the door and raced over to the sink. I splashed my face with water. The cold of the water seemed to penetrate my skin, and calm me down right in the soul. My breathing stopped being so rapid, and my eyes lost their widened look. I looked in the mirror and saw the same me I saw this morning. Green eyes. Brownish hair with natural golden blonde highlights. That tiny freckle that resided on my cheek bone. My slightly sloped nose. But I was different. Because I saw Brian. I guess he wasn't lying when he said, "You haven't met me yet," or something along those line. I sighed and wiped my dripping face off with a paper towel. I slowly walked outside of the bathroom and was so thankful that nobody came into the bathroom while I was self-orienting. Then I bumped into a waiter.
"I'm sorry," I replied quickly. I looked up and saw familiar blue eyes and the name tag. Brian. I cringed and he looked straight at me.
"No, it's okay," the waiter said, still looking at me like he was perplexed, "But I feel like I know you from somewhere."
"I know you from somewhere," I muttered.
"From where?" He asked. Apparently he heard my near silent mutter. I guess this guy must have super hearing. Then I remembered something from the dream. I was running from him before I tripped. Why?
"I think like from coming here before or something like that," I said.
"No, today is my first day working here," he said. Then it looked like a thought caught in his mind. "Did you have any dreams last night?"
"Yes," I replied slowly.
"Did you have a dream where you were running in the woods from a man in a completely black suit except for his eyes?" He asked.
"Yes," I answered again.
"That man was me," he said.
"Like I haven't already noticed," I muttered.
"What? You recognized me and didn't tell me? I thought I was going insane by seeing you here!" He nearly yelled.
"Well what am I supposed to do, just walk up to you and be like, 'I saw you in one of my dreams and I was running from you like you were a mad man'? I didn't know if you had the dream too! You could've thought I was absolutely crazy! Mentally unstable!" I almost yelled back.
"Touché," he muttered, just loud enough for me to hear it, "Anyway, what is your name?"
"Sarah," I replied, "And why are you asking what my name is when we could be wondering why we were apart of each other's dreams!"
"True," he said, "But anyway, I was saying stuff that I wasn't actually saying, that I really didn't know."
"Even when you told me your name?" I asked with a slight chuckle.
"Haha, very funny," he said, "Anyway, I think the meet later in life was referring to now."
"That is one thing I'll agree with you on," I replied.
"Whatever," he muttered, "But why were you running?"
"My guess is as good as yours," I replied, "And that's what I'm slightly scared to find out about."
"Why?" He asked.
"I dunno, you could be an ax murderer!" I exclaimed.
"I can promise you I'm not an ax murderer," he replied.
"And also, I had this feeling that you are supposed to help me with something," I said.
"Like what?" He asked.
"My best friend went missing and I have this feeling the dream had to do with it," I stated.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yep," I replied, "I'm going on a search with my friends right after this, you could come with us. Maybe you're the key to finding her."
"That'd be good, I guess," he said, "How long has she been missing."
"Four months," I replied.
"That's a long time," he stated.
"Like I didn't already know that," I muttered.
"Anyway, let me tell my boss that I can't work the rest of the day," he said.
"Oh, I forgot about that," I said, "You're working right now. Maybe you could come on our next search."
"No, I'm coming on this one," he said, "If you think I might be the key to finding her, I want to help you as soon as possible. I'll meet you back at your table in ten or so minutes."
"Okay, see ya, Brian," I said, walking back to the table.
"Later, Sarah," he smiled. He walked to some back room as I got to my table. I sat down in the same seat as before and saw my plate of hash browns. I started eating them when I realized Henry and Lilith were looking at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Were you talking to our waiter?" Henry asked.
"Maybe," I said slowly.
"Were you flirting with him?" Lilith asked, a smirk spreading across her face.
"No!" I exclaimed, "I bumped into him as I was leaving the bathroom and he started talking at me and I talked back. Also he's coming with us on the search." I added that last part as quietly as I could.
"What was that last part?" Henry asked.
"He's coming with us on the search," I said, slightly louder and less muffled.
"Just say it, Sarah!" Lilith yelled.
"He's coming with us on the search!" I yelled in reply. Lilith and Henry looked at me like I was crazy.
"Why is our waiter searching with us on the search when he should be working?" Henry asked, "Does he even know Kayla?"
"He doesn't know her name but I told him she exists," I said, "And he's coming with us because I think he will help us find her."
"How?" Lilith asked, "Are you just saying that so we will let him come because you like him." She even added some eyelash flutter in there as well, making me gag.
"For the second time, I was not flirting with him!" I exclaimed, "And I had a dream and he was in it and he had the same dream, of course in his point of view, and I felt it had to do with finding Kayla. The only thing is, I don't know how much he can be trusted because I was running from him in the dream, but when I tripped, he was nice and I don't know!"
"Woah," Lilith and Henry said in unison. "Do you think he might be the key to finding Kayla?" Henry asked.
"Exactly," I replied, "And let me just say, that's why I freaked out when I saw him, because he was in my dream."
"Okay, now I understand," Lilith said, "But you had to be flirting with him."
"For the last time, I was not flirting with him!" I exclaimed at the top of my lungs, which happened to be the very moment Brian walked over to our table. He sat down next to Lilith.
"Who weren't you flirting with?" He asked.
"Nobody," I muttered.
"Anyway, I'm Brian," Brian introduced.
"I'm Lilith," Lilith smiled.
"I'm Henry," Henry added.
"And you already know who I am, but for greetings sake, I'm Sarah," I said.
"Okay, let's head down to the beach," Henry said. We stood up and walked out of the restaurant, after paying, of course. We walked down the hill and onto the beach, and as we were walking, I realized Brian was looking at me the entire time, and not because of the dream.
A/N ooooooooooooooooooh, Brian has a crush on Sarah! :) I think you all saw that coming with me as the author. Well anyway, thanks for reading, and check out chickengirl02 , she's my very best buddy and one of my favorite writers on wattpad, and this chapter is for her!:) -Piper
