The aroma of freshly brewed tea filled the kitchen as Camille stood by the counter, humming softly to herself. She poured a steaming cup and handed it to Nasir, who sat at the kitchen island scrolling through his phone. The afternoon sunlight streamed through the blinds, casting soft, golden rays across the space.

"You've been quiet all day," Camille noted, leaning against the counter with her own mug. She tilted her head, her curls falling over her shoulder as she studied him. "Something on your mind?"

"Nah, just tired," Nasir replied, setting his phone down and rubbing the back of his neck. He gave her a faint smile, though his eyes carried the weight of thoughts he wouldn't voice.

"You're always tired," Camille teased, her lips curving into a small grin. "You work too much, babe. I told you, you should take the week off for your birthday."

"Can't do that," he said, shaking his head. "Too much going on at all the clubs. And besides, it's just another day."

"Just another day?" Camille raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. "Excuse me, but I distinctly remember you talking about how big of a deal birthdays were when we first got together. Don't think I forgot."

Nasir smirked, leaning back in his chair. "Yeah, well, that was before I had all this responsibility. Ain't much to celebrate when you're constantly grindin', you feel me?"

Camille rolled her eyes playfully and took a sip of her coffee. "You deserve a break, Nas. Let me spoil you this year."

"You already spoil me enough with your love and presence." he replied, his tone softening. His gaze flickered to her briefly before shifting back to the tea mug in his hands.

"Well, I'm doing something, so don't even try to stop me," Camille said, determined. She pushed off the counter and walked over to him, running her fingers through his short curls. "You need to let yourself enjoy life a little more. It's your birthday, Nasir. Live a little."
