Zayn:

The sky was filled with drifting white plush clouds. We laid there peacefully. My mind wouldn't stop thinking about Mindy's facial expression. The way her eyes were filled with curiosity and fear. Why is it always me who constantly hurts her? But the fact that she's here with me now makes me wonder why. Most girls would have gone somewhere, but Mindy is right next to me.

"What are you thinking of?" She asked.

"Oh, nothing." I sat up as did she.

"C'mon. I know that's your thinking face." She nudged my shoulder.

"I was thinking about..." I drifted off.

"About?" We were now face-to-face.

"This morning." I quietly said.

"Oh." That's all she could say.

"Why are you here with me now? Why aren't you somewhere else? Like at Alyssa's or Miranda's?"

"Do you not want me to be here?" Her face saddened.

"No no no! I do. I'm just wondering why. You aren't like most girls. Well, I know that already, but still."

"Well, I stayed because I could tell that you were sincere by the look in your eyes. Though I still can't get over the fact that you did do it, I can't stop loving you either." She held my face in her hands.

"I love you too." My hands found her waist.

I leaned in closer. Our lips were hovering and nose rubbing against each other. Our bodies got closer as we kissed. My hands found her waist as her's found my neck and hair. The session got heated quickly once my hands slipped under her top and roamed around her sides and stomach. She suddenly pulls away, but I pulled her back in.

"Zayn. Wait." Mindy said inbetween kisses.

"No." I kept on kissing her down to her neck.

"Zayn, please. Someone is calling." She tries to push me.

"Fine." I huffed.

She pulled out her phone from her back pocket. Her eyes had gotten wider.

"3 messages from 'Edmond' and a missed call." She said.

"What does he want?"

"He wants to come over. For dinner possibly. Just to see how I'm doing."

"When?"

"Today."

With that said, I looked at my watch. 2:54 pm. We didn't have much food at home.

"What time is he coming?" I asked before calculating how much time we needed to get groceries and cook.

"Um, 7." She look at me.

"Okay." I sighed.

"I can tell him to come tomorrow, Zayn." She could tell that I was annoyed.

"No no. It's fine, but we have to go now to get everything ready."

"Alright." We started to pack everything and head back to my car.

The way back was quiet, but not an awkward quiet. Just quiet. We've gotten to a point in our relationship where silence isn't bad. Not saying that she needs to be quiet, but it's just nice knowing that we're here together just admiring what we have.

By the time we reached a market, Mindy fell asleep. I didn't want to wake her up, but I had to. Oh, I felt so bad.

"Babe, wake up. We're here." I nudged her gently.

She groaned.

"C'mon."

She slowly opened her eyes and sat up stretching. "Mmm, okay."

I got out and opened her door for her. Slowly, she trudged out of the car. Hair slightly messy, eyes barely open, stumbling instead of walking. She was really tired. Maybe I could ask Edmond to cancel for tonight and we could have lunch tomorrow.

I caught up with Mindy. "Can I see your phone?"

"Why?" She got a cart.

"I want to ask Edmond if he can come for lunch tomorrow since you are clearly tired."

"It's fine really. What do you want to eat?" She attempted to change the topic.

"Pasta would be nice." I gave up trying to convice her.

"Hm, alright." She pushed the cart around gathering items for tonight.

We walked around the market some more. She woke up a bit, but I still think that we should have lunch tomorrow. Quickly realizing that we had less than two hours to prep, we headed for the cash register. There was a line. Of course. Luckily right before we entered it, another registered opened and I pulled the cart with Mindy to the open lane.

"Hand me the sauce, Zayn." I handed her a jar.

"Thank you." She sang.

I stood behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist as she stirred the pot. Her hand slipped down onto mine, holding it tightly as if she was scared of something. I looked at her face, but all I could see was a blank stare. Why was she so scared? Was it because of me? Or that Edmond was coming to talk about what had already ended. Her anxiety.

My mind drifted back to Mindy's dull facial features. I couldn't figure it out, but she gave my hand a small squeeze before letting go. Once her hand left mine, it felt weird. The heat from her only warmed up my hand, but it felt like she warmed up my whole body. And once when it was gone, it was like a coldness took over.

I left Mindy to set up the table. By the time I finished, the food finished too. She left to clean herself up before Edmond came. I sat on the couch waiting for both of them.
