After Luceya had left Terra she travelled the galaxy in search of a place to call home, a place which could give her a purpose. When she thought that she had found one, namely another Sister of Silence splinter faction, she believed to have found her calling. But the place would not be what she had hoped. This special splinter group behaved more like a cult, cutting out their own vocal cords to make sure the oath of tranquility never be broken. Upon finding out that Luceya had broken her sacred oath the cult took drastic measures. Cutting out Luceyas vocal cords and tounge thus condemning her to a life without voice. One without the warmth that was unreachable for her. And yet there was a chance, a small glimmer on the horizon. A renegade Tech-Magos on the Hive world of Erros 1 was said to contain a technology to give her her voice back. And to Erros 1 she had come. Lost without direction on a planet that was not her own she had found help in the renegade Battlesister Zanith Aleyon who was quite well off with said Magos. She lead Luceya through the Hive cities slums where human feces lined the street corners. Under dim green light the workshop came into view. From the outside it didn't look like much. Nothing which told of the technological genius of the Magos. When entering the workshop there was a stench of mechanical grease, ceramite and sacred oils permeating inside the room. While Zanith conversed with the Magos in the back of his workshop, Luceya took her time in inspecting the exposés and her glance met a mighty large Power sword. As she closed her hand around it she felt its arcane energies crackling. And despite it being the size of a Biedhander she found it to be easily used one-handed. It felt light and just right in her hand. It wasn't covered in ornaments too, just the plain grip, hilt and blade.
,,Not built as a piece of art. Just to fulfill its purpose. Truly one of my finest works." sneered a metallic voice.
A torso came flying in on Grav projectors, several mechanical arms pertruding out of his back with several monocles over one of his bionic eyes. Red robes waved over the ground which made the absence of legs even more scarring.
,,This is Magos Cassian Seth, the arcane smith. And this," Zanith pointed towards Luceya, ,, is Silent Sister Luceya, an Oathbreaker who had her voice taken from her by the...Order of...."
,,...of the Silent Martyr." signed Luceya
,,Ah yes, the Order of the Silent Martyr." Zanith finished.
,,Ahh,", he sneered as he hovered around her, ,,so this is the one you have told me about. The outcast, the oathbreaker. Doesn't look like much to me."
Only the silent humming of his grav-projectors filled the room as he investigated the scar on Luceyas upper throat.
,,A lackluster cut.", he continued in his metallic voice, ,,The wound hasn't healed properly, as was to be expected for a Cult which cuts out each others vocal chords. But I should be able to give you something to compensate for your lost vocal cords and tongue.", he showed her a small device made out of several small golden segments all weaved tightly together on a small rail, ,,This will make you speak again. It is, might I say so, my Magnum Opus. And you just might be worthy to bear it."
Then let us waste no more time. Signed Luceya.
With a slight mechanical laughter the Magos led Luceya into the backroom.
,,But first, there is another person we will need for the operation." He said.
Who? She gestured while looking surprised. Something both she and Zanith were afraid of.
He laughed, louder this time.
,,The Surgeon."
,,The Surgeon, really?" Zanith asked sceptically.
Who is the Surgeon? She asked.
,,He once was a medic in the Cadian 216th, and a bloody good one at that. He is THE go to guy for illegal or unscrupulous operations. Works as a doctor for all Crime families in the city. But really Cassian, this would be a simple cut, why not just do it yourself?
,,I am a Magos of the Adeptus Mechanicus not a surgeon." He answered with an empty voice while accessing the Vox with one of his Mechadendrites, ,,He will do."
,,If you say so." Said Zanith while turning her head away from the Vox Console.Who was this surgeon? That was the question which lingered around in Luceyas mind.
