Pablo's POV
„You're beaming querida!" I grinned, walking towards my girlfriend who was impatiently waiting for me.
„Of course I am! You're through to the quarter-finals!" She answered, lacing her arms around my neck, smiling up at me.
It really was a good game, Georgia were strong in counterattacks and pressing but we could eventually break through and score the much needed goals.
I was about to lean in and give Lu a kiss, when I was called up by the federation for a doping test alongside the Georgian player Kvaratskhelia.
My annoyed glare made all of my family laugh immediately as it seemed that I wouldn't get rid of my angry bird nickname anytime soon. My father just patted my shoulder in sympathy, as he knew I would've liked to spent this little time with my family instead of doing a stupid doping test. Before I could bicker more about it, I was led away into a room where I had to wait for another hour or so with no phone, food, fresh clothes or anything. Family time was for sure not a thing anymore...
After my doping test was finally evaluated, my teammates all gave me sarcastic side eyes after they all had to wait for me before traveling to Stuttgart. And when I told them I still needed to take a shower, slippers were thrown at me in protest.
„Can I quickly go back to my family to say goodbye?" I asked our head coach after the shower.
„They are already on their way to Stuttgart, sorry Pablo."
Great. I was visibly pouting as I just wanted five minutes with my closest people. But now I probably had to wait for tomorrow afternoon while everyone had the chance for a quick chat except for me.
„Aww Pablito misses his queridaaa" Ferran joked but I wasn't in the mood for banter but instead brushed past him in the bus, punching his arm lightly.
Lucia🦦
I couldn't even talk to you guys for more than two minutes☹️
I know... we got transferred with the rest of the families right after...
I'm sorry
Its not your fault, see you tomorrow❤️
I slept in the train for a bit, being at least a tad excited for tomorrow to have a free day to spend with my family to shut off my mind.
The team checked into our new hotel, this time giving us single bedrooms.
Good, because I wasn't going to share with a snoring Fermin again. The years at La Masia and the last few nights with him proved it again.
I was about to face time Lucia as I haven't heard much from her these last few hours, when there were several quick knocks on my hotel door.
I opened the door confused, not expecting my girlfriend standing there with flushed cheeks and a pillow in her hands.
„Hey." She giggled, probably loving the baffled look on my face.
„Wait what?" I automatically started smiling too, pulling her immediately into my arms. She let out a few cute giggles, all muffled by my sweatshirt.
„Surprise!" When she looked up I couldn't help but grab her face and finally kiss her. Lu gasped at my sudden action but melted even more into my arms. I led her inside, closing the door with my foot and lifted Lu up to carry her to the bed. Her hands played with my hair while I gently laid her down onto the mattress, with us never stop kissing. It wasn't anything heated, I just needed to feel her close again in my arms and feel her lips on mine.
