Chapter 1- Where We Began

Lumina Square Precinct:

"Hey Commissioner. Wait up. Do you have a minute?" Qinqyi called out.

Zhu Yuan turned to face her as she replied, "Hey, Captain. I am just waiting for Detective Doe. Yes, I have a minute. Is something the matter?"

"No. Nothing is the matter. I just wanted to see if you planned on working the weekend." Qinqyi calmly replied.

Zhu Yuan casually said, "No. You know that I don't work the weekends anymore, since I was promoted to Commissioner." Zhu Yuan thought for moment before she continued. "Wait, were you teasing me like you used to?"

"I'm sorry. Old habits are sometime hard to break. Besides, the position has changed you." Qinqyi calmly said.

Zhu Yuan tilted head and was confused as she asked, "Why did you have to say it like you don't know me when we have worked together for years now."

"I know that. It just seems something about you has changed. That is all." Qingyi calmly replied.

Zhu Yuan felt her face heat up as she started to say, "Qinqyi...."

"Don't take it the wrong way. I mean it as something that has been a good change over the last couple of months. You seem less stressed and more relaxed." Qinqyi quickly said.

Before Zhu Yuan could say anything, Jane Doe walked towards them as she said, "Hey, Commish. I hope that you didn't wait very long. I needed to finish up my latest report before we head home for the weekend."

Zhu Yuan smiled before said, "No. I haven't been waiting long. How did it go? Were there any issues?"

Jane Doe smiled as she replied, "It went well. No. Everything went fine." Jane looked at Qinqyi before she continued. "Hi, Captain. Have a good weekend."

Qinqyi looked at Jane. "Hi, Detective. You too. You two should get going. You don't want to keep her waiting." Qinqyi calmly said before she headed off.

Jane Doe looked at Zhu Yuan before she smiled and said, "We should get going. I believe it is our turn to pick up pizza for movie night."

Zhu Yuan nodded before she said, "True. Let's go."

Zhu Yuan and Jane Doe walked out of the Precinct and headed to the pizza shop before they headed home.

Belobog Construction Site:

A whistle blew. "Alright, everyone. That's a wrap for the day. Have a safe weekend, and I will see you all bright and early Monday morning." Kaleda shouted as machines shut down.

Construction workers started to grab their stuff and head home. Anton and Ben gathered around Kaleda as they talked about their weekend plans. Grace cleaned her hands and face after she put away her tools. Kaleda watched Grace as she passed by them.

"Hey, Grace. We are going to the bar to get a few drinks. Do you think that you can come?" Kaleda warmly said.

Grace frowned before she replied, "I am sorry, sweetie pie. You know that this weekend I already have plans. But I promise to hang out with you all soon."

"Oh, okay. Have a good weekend." Kaleda frowned as she said.

Ben cleared his throat. "Please give Proxy our warm wishes." Ben said calmly.

Grace smiled as she said, "I will. Thank you, guys. I will see you all bright and early Monday morning."

Grace grabbed her stuff before she messaged saying that she was grabbing snacks before she headed home.
