After I finish Skyping with Cory, I take a quick shower and change into some comfy shorts and a big t-shirt. Just as I'm brushing through my hair, I hear Dawson and my Mom coming inside with the groceries. I quickly hang up my wet towel on the back of the bathroom door and finish brushing my hair and rush downstairs to help carry in the groceries, because if you don't help out around this house my Mom treats it like it's a crime! I make my way out to my moms car where her and Dawson are unloading bags of groceries from the trunk.
"Hey guys, need some help?"
Dawson walks past me with two bags in each of his hands and doesn't mutter a word to me. What crawled up his ass today? I walk over to where my Mom is standing and I take the package of paper towels from her hands and grab a bag from the trunk.
"Hey Mom, how was grocery shopping?"
"Same old, same old."
"I'm gonna bring these inside, want me to come back out and help after?"
"Nope, I got the rest. Go to your room, I'll be up in a few minutes."
I let out a frustrated sigh and roll my eyes. Guess I'm going to end up talking to her after all...and to think I actually thought I would get off that one easy. I trudge inside and set the groceries down on the counter and see Dawson glaring at me from the corner of my eye. I start to walk back upstairs to go to my room, but Dawson's glare is burning a hole in the back of my head. I turn around and face him.
"Okay, what's your problem Dawson?!"
"You're a heartless bitch."
"EXCUSE ME?!"
"Yeah you heard me, you're a heartless bitch."
"What did I do to you?"
"Oh I don't know, Mom might've asked me about your dramatic little outburst at dinner and persuaded me to tell her what the fuck your issue was. So I told her about your little breakdown that happened before she got home and she feels that she has to meet Paige because you said the whole thing about her wanting to hurt me and shit. Once again, she believed your stupid little story that you made up out of pure jealousy. So now Paige is coming over tomorrow night for dinner and we all have to sit down and talk about everything that's happened. Knowing you, you'll probably make up another story to make Paige look bad. I don't see why you don't want us dating! She's absolutely perfect!"
"Wow Dawson, that's absolutely pathetic that you think I'm making all of this up. I'm your sister and I just want the best for you."
I walk away from Dawson and go upstairs in my room to wait for my mom. I sit down on my bed and pick up my phone, noticing that I have two new messages. One is from Cory and one is from Braden. I open up Cory's text first.
From: Cory <3
To: Livvy! :)
I miss you babe. Can't wait to Skype later!I smile at Cory's text and type a quick reply, then I open Braden's text.
From: Braden :)
To: Livvy! :)
What're you doing tomorrow night? Wanna go see the fireworks with me?Frowning at Braden's text knowing that I'm busy tomorrow night, I decide to call him since we haven't talked in awhile anyways. He picks up after two rings, and I'm grateful that he does because it's a distraction from the whole Dawson and Paige drama.
"Hello?"
"Hey Braden! What's up?"
"Just got finished having dinner with my Mom and little sister."
"You have a little sister?! I didn't know that."
"Yeah, her name is Riley. She's 4."
"Awwww! I love little kids, can I meet her sometime?"
