You were busy scrolling through your phone, comfortably nestled on the couch when you felt something—a presence. Before you could react, two arms wrapped around your shoulders from behind, and a familiar head rested against yours.
"Guess whooo?" Jisung's voice sang out, his tone playful but with a soft whine underneath it.
You couldn't help but laugh, already knowing who it was from the first second. "Jisung, I'm trying to relax here."
"And I'm trying to relax with you," he pouted, shifting his weight so that he slid around to the front, plopping himself right next to you on the couch. His arm draped over your shoulders as he practically melted against you.
You raised an eyebrow. "Is everything okay?"
He nodded, but the way he clung to you like a koala said otherwise. "Just missed you."
"You saw me an hour ago," you teased, poking him lightly in the side.
"That was an eternity ago," Jisung dramatically groaned, nuzzling his face into the crook of your neck. His voice came out muffled as he added, "You're always busy these days."
You let out a sigh but smiled, feeling the warmth of his affection sink in. "I'm right here now, aren't I?"
Jisung hummed, his arms tightening around you. "Yeah, but I want you closer."
You glanced down at him, noticing the way his usual hyper energy seemed toned down, replaced by a soft, almost vulnerable need for your attention. His head was resting comfortably on your shoulder now, and his eyes were closed, like he could stay there forever.
"What's going on with you, huh? You've been extra clingy today," you asked, your voice gentle, as you began to run your fingers through his hair.
He opened his eyes slightly, looking up at you through his lashes. "I dunno. I just feel like I need you near me today. Can't I have a clingy day?"
You chuckled softly. "You can, but I'm just wondering what brought it on."
Jisung shifted a little, his face still half-buried in your shoulder as he spoke. "It's just been stressful lately, you know? All the schedules, the performances, recording... it gets overwhelming. And when I'm with you, it all just feels better."
Your heart melted at his words, the sincerity in his voice tugging at your emotions. You knew how hard Jisung worked—always putting in 110% into everything he did, pushing himself to the limit to give his best. It wasn't often that he let himself be vulnerable like this, but when he did, it was a reminder of how much he trusted you.
"Jisung..." you whispered, wrapping your arms around him in return, holding him just as close. "You don't have to carry all of that by yourself. You know I'm here for you, right?"
"I know," he murmured, his voice soft as he snuggled even closer into your embrace. "That's why I'm clinging to you. I need my support system."
His words were sweet, but the way he said it with a small pout made you laugh. "Is that what I am? Your emotional support human?"
"Exactly," he grinned, his mood lifting as he leaned back just enough to look up at you with those wide, sparkling eyes. "So, don't move, okay? You're stuck with me for the rest of the day."
You playfully rolled your eyes, but your smile betrayed how much you didn't mind it at all. "Well, I guess I have no choice."
"That's the spirit!" he cheered, settling back into your side as if he belonged there. "Now, let's watch something together. We can binge a show, or a movie, or just... not move for the next several hours."
"You really don't want me to go anywhere, huh?"
"Nope," he said, popping the 'p' as he wrapped his arms around you tighter. "Not letting you out of my sight."
You grabbed the remote, surrendering to your fate. "Alright, clingy boy, what do you want to watch?"
"Anything, as long as you don't get up," he mumbled, already halfway asleep in your arms.
As the two of you settled into the quiet comfort of the moment, you couldn't help but feel your own stress melt away too. There was something calming about Jisung's presence, even when he was clingy and whiny. He made you feel needed, and in return, you gave him the peace he craved.
The TV played quietly in the background, but it wasn't long before Jisung drifted off completely, his breath evening out as he slept peacefully against you. You didn't move, not wanting to disturb him.
And even though he had claimed you weren't allowed to leave, you didn't want to either.
