The late afternoon sun filtered through the studio windows, casting a warm glow over the room. Lee Know sat on a chair, his posture tense as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. Today was a photoshoot, and while he usually embraced the camera with confidence, a shadow of insecurity hung over him.
The sound of footsteps pulled him from his thoughts, and he turned to see you walking in, a comforting smile on your face. You had been friends for a while now, always knowing how to lighten the mood and offer support when he needed it most.
"Hey, you," you greeted, noticing the way he furrowed his brows, his gaze locked on the faint scar that traced his abdomen. It was a reminder of the surgery he had as a child, a part of his past that he had learned to live with but still found difficult to accept.
"Hey," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper.
You took a seat beside him, your eyes meeting his in the mirror. "What's bothering you?"
He sighed, rubbing his hand over the scar. "I just... I don't like how it looks. It makes me feel... different."
You could see the weight of his words pressing down on him, the vulnerability that he rarely showed to anyone else. "Different how?" you asked gently.
"It's ugly," he muttered, a hint of frustration lacing his tone.
"Ugly? No, it's not," you said, shaking your head. "It's a part of who you are, and it tells a story. Scars can be beautiful."
He raised an eyebrow, skepticism creeping into his expression. "Beautiful?"
"Of course! They show resilience and strength. That scar represents your journey, everything you've overcome since childhood. It's proof that you've faced challenges and come out stronger. You're not defined by it, but it's a part of your story."
Lee Know turned to face you fully, his expression softening. "You really think so?"
"Absolutely," you replied with a reassuring smile. "You could have a million scars, and you'd still be one of the most beautiful people I know, inside and out."
He chuckled softly, the tension in his shoulders easing just a bit. "You really know how to make someone feel better, huh?"
"It's easy when it comes to you," you said, nudging him playfully. "Just promise me you won't let a little scar make you doubt your worth. You're incredible, and nothing can change that."
As he looked into your eyes, he felt a warmth spreading through his chest, the kind that came from knowing someone believed in him. "Thanks," he said quietly, a small smile breaking through. "I guess I needed that."
"Anytime," you replied, your heart swelling at the sight of his smile. "Now, let's get you ready for this shoot. You have fans waiting to see the amazing Lee Know, not just the guy with a scar."
With a newfound sense of confidence, he stood up, allowing you to help him adjust his outfit. As he looked back at his reflection, he noticed something different—the scar didn't seem as daunting anymore. It was a part of him, just like everything else, and with your support, he felt ready to embrace it all.
"Okay, let's do this," he said, a determined glint in his eyes.
You smiled, feeling proud of him. "That's the spirit!"
Together, you stepped out of the room, Lee Know ready to shine, not just as an idol, but as the beautifully imperfect person he was.
