Javen Davis was 26, a man with dreams bigger than the life he was currently living. He shared a cramped two-bedroom apartment with his fiancée, Ashley, and their two children: Aurora, a bright and inquisitive ten-year-old, and Javer Jr., a playful six-year-old who idolized his father. Savannah, Georgia, had always felt like home to Javen, but lately, it had become more of a cage, tightening around his family as their financial troubles grew.

Javen worked long hours at a media company called Daily Yews Media, where he made $14 an hour. It wasn't much, but it was enough to keep the lights on, for now. Ashley worked as a waitress, hustling through double shifts in a small restaurant downtown. Together, they barely scraped by, struggling to afford the $1600 rent for their apartment. Every month, they paid the rent late, always managing to pull together enough before eviction became a reality. But that reality was closing in faster than they could handle.

One ordinary Wednesday morning, Javen's entire world shifted.

"Javen, I need to see you in my office," his boss, Mr. Richards, said in a tone that was more serious than usual.

Javen swallowed hard and followed Mr. Richards into the corner office. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach, and it only got worse as Mr. Richards handed him a sealed envelope.

"I'm really sorry, Javen. We're downsizing, and unfortunately, we have to let you go."

Javen's mind went blank. "But... but I've been here for three years. I can do more, take on extra work. Please, I have a family."

"I know it's tough, but there's nothing I can do. It's not personal, just business. You'll get a severance package, but it won't cover much."

As Javen walked out of the office, the weight of his new reality hit him all at once. He'd been fired. With their rent already overdue, there was no way they could make ends meet now.

Chapter 2: Eviction Day

When Javen got home that evening, he found Ashley sitting at the kitchen table, her face etched with concern.

"You're home early. Everything okay?" she asked.

Javen took a deep breath and sat down. "I got fired today, Ash."

Ashley's face went pale. "What? Fired? Javen, we're already behind on rent. How are we gonna pay this month?"

"I don't know," Javen muttered, feeling the weight of his failure settle on his shoulders. "I'll figure something out."

But figuring something out wasn't easy. Over the next two weeks, Javen searched for jobs, applied everywhere he could, but nothing came through. Then, one Friday afternoon, there was a loud knock at the door. Javen opened it to find their landlord and the sheriff standing in the doorway.

"We're here to serve an eviction notice," the landlord said coldly, handing Javen a piece of paper.

Ashley rushed over, her eyes wide with panic. "Please, we have kids. Can you just give us a little more time?" she begged, holding Aurora and Javer Jr. close.

The landlord frowned but shook his head. "You've already had time. You're two months behind. You have 48 hours to vacate, or we'll have the sheriff put your things out."

Javen stared at the paper in disbelief. The weight of his world was collapsing, and he had no idea what to do.

Chapter 3: Nowhere to Go

Two days later, the sheriff returned. This time, there was no room for negotiation. Their furniture, clothes, and belongings were hauled outside and left on the sidewalk. Aurora and Javer Jr. cried, clinging to Ashley as their whole life was uprooted. Javen felt completely helpless.
