Kira and Malia were keeping themselves out of sight in the morgue, waiting for all the guys to rendezvous back up with them, hopefully with Lydia. Malia was looking through the door's window, keeping an eye out for any more security guards but she hadn't seen any for a couple of minutes now. She hadn't seen anyone actually, and it was starting to make her nervous.

"How long has it been? Shouldn't they all have found Lydia and been back by now?" She turned to look back at Kira and found her leaning against the wall, bent down a bit and seemed to be breathing a little hard. "Uh, Kira, are you okay?"

Kira quickly shook her head. "No," she panted out deeply. "I...I-"

That was all she was able to get out before she hissed in both tension and pain as sparks started to fly out of her body.

"Whoa, what are you doing? Stop," Malia hissed out at her, nervously looking back and forth between Kira and the door.

"I'm trying," Kira grunted as the sparks kept coming out of her in small zaps every few moments. She closed her eyes shut and tried to focus. The sparks stopped shooting out and she was able to direct them to her fists but after a few minutes, her electricity was starting to almost every second. The strain of containing her foxfire was starting to wear on her. "I don't know how much longer I can last," she gasped out.

Malia was getting freaked out. She wasn't used to handling this kind of situation before. It was normally Scott or Stiles who did, but neither were here and she couldn't sense either of them getting close. When Kira told her about not lasting much longer, she began to panic.

"How did you stop it before?" she asked desperately.

"Scott carried me outside, which almost killed him."

Yeah, Malia wasn't going to do that. "Okay, uh, maybe we could try to ground you to something?" she thought, trying to sound calm even if she was anything but.

"You have a degree in electrical engineering, because I don't know how to do that." That was all Kira was able to nervously spout before a jolt of electricity zapped out, nearly hitting Malia, causing her to duck down behind a gurney. Her containment was beginning to fail. "Malia, go!" she screamed as she went to throw herself against the opposite wall.

Malia saw that the sparks surrounding Kira were starting to get bigger, stronger, and deadlier. As much as her primal instincts were telling her to run, Malia was keeping herself there. She wasn't going to abandon her friend. She couldn't.

"No, I won't leave you," she said to her.

Kira began to sob through the pain. "I should've stayed in the desert with the skinwalkers. I shouldn't have let Scott take me back. I can't control this." A tear began to emerge off the corner of her right eye, a small static spark made it have a flicker glow as it ran down her cheek. "I'm never going to be able to."

But Malia shook her head. " No Kira, you can. You did. Remember, it worked, right? You controlled it enough to cause the brownout. You can do it again."

But her words of encouragement and support had little effect.

"I can't!" Kira shouted, electricity now being heard in her voice. Hums and sparks mixed in with her voice. "Malia, GO!" she distorted out. Her eyes began to let out a small orange glow before another spark, even bigger than before, shot out of her body.
