"Wake her up," a deep voice commanded the old woman standing beside him. She bowed slightly before turning to wake Lena.
She knocked on the door of another room.
Lena’s POV:
I squinted as the sunlight poured into the room, its warmth doing little to ease the tension that always lingered inside me. I rolled over and sat up, my heart heavy with the knowledge of who was downstairs.
"Who is it?" I called out, my voice sharp.
"It's me," came a soft, tired voice. "Mr. Jeon asked me to wake you."
I huffed, annoyance bubbling under my skin. I forced myself to stand.
"I'm coming. Give me a minute."
"Yes, ma'am."I took my time in the washroom, soaking in the hot water, not because I needed to relax, but because I wanted to delay seeing him. I dressed quickly in a hoodie and trousers, not caring in the slightest what he would think.
When I descended the stairs, I saw him seated at the table, calmly eating his breakfast as if he hadn’t shattered my life. I stood at his side, resisting the urge to glare.
"Sit," he ordered, barely glancing at me.
I did as he said. This was part of the plan. Play along. Bide my time.
"We’re going out for another task after this," he said casually.
"Where are we going?" I asked, keeping my voice steady.
"You’ll find out soon enough." His indifference was infuriating, and I couldn’t help but roll my eyes.

"What are we doing here?" I asked, confused, as I looked out the car window at the bustling crowd. Some people were buying vegetables, others were selling.
"You have to hide from my men for an hour," he said.
"That’s easy," I replied confidently.
"Maybe, but make sure no one gets hurt and don’t cause any disturbance," he warned.
"Got it."
"Here, take this earpiece. I’ll let you know when the time is up." He handed me the earpiece, and I got out of the car. That’s when I noticed another car behind us, filled with men.
"Uh, Mr. Jeon?" I leaned down to look at him through the window.
"Yes?" he responded.
"So, how many are going catch me?"
He smirked. "All of them."
My eyes widened. "Are you crazy?"
"Your time starts now. I’ll send them in 30 seconds. Run."
As soon as he said that, I bolted, running as fast as I could. The market was crowded, making it hard not to bump into people.
"Uh uh, I told you to not cause any disturbance"
I apologized quickly to those I collided with, trying not to cause any chaos.
"They’re coming after you. Be careful," I heard his voice in the earpiece.
I cursed under my breath.
"Mind your language, woman," he said, surprising me.
I looked back and saw his men spreading out in all directions, closing in fast. I needed to think quickly.
"No matter how fast you are, you can't escape them"
"I don't think so"
I scanned the area, hoping to find somewhere to hide or a shop where I could change clothes, but all I saw were vegetable stalls.
