Author's pov~~

She clutched her phone tightly, her tears flowing freely as she sobbed uncontrollably. Lost in her despair, she didn't realize that the call had connected, and the screen on the other end lit up with his name.

Aanan's pov~~

I sat on the bed, my laptop illuminating the dimly lit room. Rubbing my eyes, I tried to shake off the remnants of a restless night. Sleep had evaded me, slipping through my fingers like sand, despite my desperate attempts to find solace in its embrace.

Thoughts of her flooded my mind-the way she smiled, the sound of her laughter, and that sweet, unexpected kiss. But with those memories came the shadows of my nightmares, the dark scenes that haunted me when I closed my eyes.

"Why now?" I muttered to myself, "I haven't had any nightmares for the past two days when she was with me."

Staring at the screen, my fingers hovered over the keyboard, but my mind was elsewhere.

Just as I was about to dive into work, my phone buzzed, jolting me from my thoughts. The screen lit up with her name.

I glanced at the screen, the familiar name lighting up the display. It was her, calling me at 3:30 AM. A wave of concern washed over me as i accepted the call.

"Hello?" i said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

But instead of a greeting, all i heard was the sound of her sobbing and sniffing. It pierced through the darkness of the night.

"pearl?" i urged, panic creeping into my tone. "Are you okay?"

I could feel the knot tightening in my stomach as i listened to her cries.

"Please, talk to me pearl. I'm here."

Not getting any reply, I hurriedly grabbed my jacket and bike keys, my heart pounding in my chest as I rushed out the door.

All my thoughts were consumed by her. The sound of her sobs echoed in my mind, and I couldn't shake the urgency I felt.

I hopped on my bike, Every second felt like an eternity as I navigated through the dark streets, pushed those thoughts away, focusing on the road ahead.

"Just hold on, I will be there," I whispered to myself, fueling my speed.

Her face flashed in my mind-I couldn't let anything happen to her. She needed me, and I wouldn't fail her.

I reached her place in 15 minutes, my heart racing as I called her phone again and again.

Each ring echoed my growing concern, and when she didn't pick up, panic clawed at my insides. I considered going to her room, but I didn't even know which one was hers.
