Prologue

The darkness that came from being underground, completely took over my body with an icey chill. I knew it would take a lot to overcome this man for an escape but I had to keep confidence to not give out on myself.

I struggled with the ropes that restrained my motion as I slowly grew sores from the tight grip.

I rotated my body to a not so uncomfortable position so that I could see my only option for my escape. A giant wooden door at the top of never-ending stairs; covered with dirt and ash.

I heard shuffling above me and moved back to my original position and closed my eyes to mimic sleeping. It wouldn't fool anyone but I would rather do this than look at his devilish face.

After a few seconds, I heard the tumbler in the door click and loud boot footsteps that were all too familiar to my ears. He dropped the doggy bowl by my feet as if I was his pet. It was filled with who knows what and a look of disgust came over my face.

The controlling voice of this man came to my surprise. "You know you should be happy I work so hard for you." He said with a serious tone than was some what sarcastic.

I held back my thoughts as I knew what would come of it.
