✫ ༒ Joey ༒ ✫Gabriella Gray was becoming a problem.
The girl was constantly on my mind. At work, at school, at home, she was every where.
It was like she forced her way into my head or something crazy. I'd been clean for almost a whole month, which was the longest I'd lasted in years.
Between work, school, hurling, my fucked up family and Gabby, I had practically no time to even meet up with Shane to get a fix.
"Joey!" Gabriella snapped her fingers in front of my face, "You need to focus! I'm trying to get you to at least a B in biology."
The girl was adamant on tutoring me in nearly all of my classes. I had tried to say no but that wasn't stopping her.
"You're making that pretty difficult," I smirked, my eyes drifting to her cleavage. She was leaning forward making her shirt hang down even further.
"Stop staring at my tits," She blushed, "And look at the cell membrane."
"But this is a much more interesting view," I grinned, ignoring her and continuing to stare.
"Cop on," She rolled her eyes playfully, chucking a pillow at my head, "Read the bleeding textbook."
One thing was certain, Gabriella was hell bent on turning my broken life into something great. It was like she thought I had a chance at being something other than an addict with no secondary school diploma.
"Okay, so," She began, "The cell membrane is selectively permeable meaning molecules can diffuse through it but most need transport proteins."
"Can you speak in english, Gabs," I groaned.
She laughed, and crossed her legs, "Basically, think of it like bread, if you sprayed it with water it would be able to pass through but you couldn't drop a grape onto it and expect it to get through, you'd need to make a hole. That's pretty much how the cell membrane works."
Shit.
That actually kind of made sense."Okay, I get that," I nodded.
"Yay!" She squealed, "I told you science is fun. At Tommen I used to tutor my friend Gibsie every week and he wound up with a B+."
"Gibsie?" I crinkled my brows in confusion, "Is that really someone's name."
"Well, his name is Gerard Gibson but everyone calls him Gibsie," She shrugged.
Him.
Maybe I was slightly jealous when it came to Gabriella.
"Weird name," I hummed.
"Yeah, weird lad too," She chuckled, "Do you want anything to eat? I can sneak down and grab something."
"Do you have crisps?" I smiled.
"Probably," She nodded, "I'll go check."
She hopped off her bed and creeped into the hallway before disappearing. I still had only ever been downstairs once, and that was when I was so high I don't even remember what it was like. I wasn't really allowed to be in her house since Gabriella was very certain about the fact her Mam would hate me.
Which was fine by me, because I hated her.
Gabriella returned a minute later with a two cans of diet soda and a bag of crisps.
"Here," She grinned, tossing the bag of crisps at me.
Tearing open the bag, I shoved one into my mouth and studied Gabby.
She was stunning.
I never got tired of looking at her which made it really difficult to have her as my tutor."Joey," She tilted her head, "You're staring at me."
"Is there a problem, Angel?"
"No..." She blushed, "I mean, yes! Get back to work."
I exhaled a frustrated sigh and tossed a crisp at her.
"Not very proactive, Joe," She giggled, throwing the crisp back at me.
"You're not hungry?" I asked when I realized she didn't eat it.
"No," She mumbled, "I had a big dinner."
Lie.
"But it's half ten at night," I pointed out.
She flushed crimson and muttered, "Oh, right."
My heart rate quickened when it dawned on me, I'd never seen her eat. Not in a stalkerish way but everyday at lunch she'd say she had a big breakfast and every night when I snuck into her room she say she'd had a big dinner.
I'd looked into eating disorders when I thought Shan might have one and I'm pretty sure those were telltale signs.
Unsure of how to proceed I blurted out, "Are you... I mean, do you want some crisps?"
She looked hesitant but she grabbed one and smiled at me. Seeing her with food in her hand made my heart rate slow slightly.
"So, we should probably move on to chapter two," She stated, "Which is human anatomy."
"Sounds difficult," I sighed, practically accepting that I was going to be failing science.
"Not with my help," She blushed, "And I have a really fun way of teaching you this unit."
My eyes widened when she leaned in and kissed me. My hands immediately grabbing her waist as she deepened the kiss.
And it was no surprise that ten minutes later my hands were in her pants and she was moaning my name.
But then I nearly stopped breathing, because she didn't eat the crisp.
She didn't fucking eat it.
