Yoshio's Point of View

As I stepped into the principal's office, the air was thick with an electric tension that was palpable.

My co-teacher, Cyro Amir, was perched on the edge of a chair, grinning like a cat that had just caught a canary. His demeanor was light-hearted, but I could sense an undercurrent of something more serious lurking beneath his playful exterior.

"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" I asked him, eyes narrowing as I tried to decipher his expression. "What are you doing here?" pag ulit kong tanong sa kanya.

Cyro leaned back, arms crossed, seemingly unbothered. "You just arrived here, is this how you should respect a higher position than yours?" he responded, his tone laced with sarcasm. I could tell he was trying to get under my skin, but I wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction.

His grin widened, and I could almost hear the gears turning in his head as he thought of another way to provoke me.

That’s when the principal, Mr. Hayes Otto entered the room, cutting through our banter with an air of authority that silenced us both.

“Ah, Mr. Keitaro! Perhaps I should give you the memorandum that the division's office dropped off at the guard house?” he said, his tone dripping with false cheer.

“Bakit doon pa? Dito dapat sa office mo, hindi ba?” I raised my voice, unable to keep the frustration at bay. “It’s like you’re embarrassing me!”

Principal Otto intoned, glancing between us. It was clear he sensed the simmering conflict; he was a sharp man. “I need to discuss something important with both of you. It’s come to my attention that there have been some… irregularities regarding student relationships with staff members.”

My heart raced as I exchanged glances with Cyro. Before I could ask what he meant, Cyro shifted in his seat, a smirk creeping onto his face. “Irregularities?” he echoed. “Like students and their teachers getting a little too cozy?”

I shot him a warning look. I had heard the rumors, but I didn’t want to jump to conclusions. “Cyro,” I said sharply, trying to regain control of the conversation. “Let’s focus on what the principal has to say.”

The principal cleared his throat, his expression grave. “I’m talking about the situation involving Miss Nalu Coleis,” he said, and a chill ran down my spine.

Nalu was not just any student; she was bright, talented, and well-respected among her peers. But my mind raced to the latest gossip that had spread like wildfire.

“I saw them,” Cyro suddenly blurted out, his voice lower but more intense. “When I was leaving the staff room on the second floor, I saw Yoshio kissing Nalu outside. They didn’t seem like they were just playing around.”

The tension in the room escalated to a boiling point. I felt the heat rush to my face as I processed what Cyro was saying.

Kissing? An affair? My thoughts spun in circles, and all I could muster was a stunned silence.
