Chapter Eleven: Sharing the BurdenAs she made her way to the common room, she found Trey and Sasha already there, sitting on the couch with concerned expressions. Their presence brought a sense of comfort, but the weight of her dream hung heavily on her heart.
"Trey, Sasha," Kara said, her voice trembling slightly. "I had another dream. This one... it felt different."
"What happened?" Trey asked, his gaze intent.
"I saw my mom again. She was in our old house, and she was drawing. I asked her why she left, and she said there were dangerous people who wanted to keep us apart," Kara explained, her words tumbling out in a rush.
Sasha's eyes widened. "Dangerous people? Do you think they're the reason you ended up in the group home?"
"I don't know," Kara admitted, her heart racing. "But she looked so scared. It felt like she was trying to warn me."
Trey exchanged a glance with Sasha, the weight of Kara's revelation settling in the air between them. "Maybe we should dig deeper into this. If there are people who are still a threat to you, we need to know."
"Yeah," Sasha added. "We'll figure it out together. You're not alone in this."
Kara felt a warmth spreading through her chest at their support. She didn't have to face this alone anymore. Together, they would uncover the truth—not just about her past, but about the magical world they were now part of.
As they sat together, plotting their next steps, the house's energy pulsed around them, a reminder that their journey was just beginning.
