ivy grows on its handles surreptitiously,
occupying every inch of space it can.
but they too soon die,
they are void of the needed light.
this is what it does.
it abolishes the light within.
its blade shines under the moonlight,
glistening with the scarlet liquid enveloping it.
its sharpness,
truly unmatched,
slices through skin as easily as stabbing it in one's back.
the sheer look of terror is forever etched into the blade,
as its victims are the last of their kind to ever see it.
but locked away in a tower it stays.
forever hidden.
they have kept it away.
the tool for destruction,
the weapon of chaos,
centuries have fallen prey to it.
blood is what it thirsts for,
a vampire lurking in the darkest alleys.
stay away, stay away, stay away
is what they all say.
they can't bear to see the sight of it.
a gaze into the wielder's eyes indicates certain death.
be afraid, be afraid, be afraid
it's coming for you.
