Yasmine hated being anywhere near the place. It was an old hotel that Cameron and his friends had purchased and renovated. From the outside looking in, it didn't look like a brothel, but it very much so was. She was there for one reason and one reason only, to pick up and make the nightly deposit like she had many nights before.
It was a busy night, she could tell, men were in and out. The rooms were full, the dancers were working nonstop. Her main concern was getting in and getting out. She made her way into the back office and was greeted by non-other than her ex-best friend. Krystal was still working for Cameron. Apart of her felt like she was to blame, but she did all she could for her. There was no escaping Cameron and his men. You would be found no matter where you went, she was a prime example.
"Here," Krystal yelled, tossing her the bag full of money. "I don't have time for this shit tonight, I'm ready to go home! I never thought I'd be sayin this, but I'll be glad when Cameron gets back! I'm sick of Anthony & and CJ's shit!" She yelled
"What's the problem?" Yasmine asked, as she watched an obviously coked up Krystal ramble around the room. It had been years since she slipped into Cameron's grasp, but she was still just as beautiful as the day she met him. The years of drugs and sex hadn't gotten to her yet. There was still hope seeping through her veins. Apart of Yasmine loved that, a part of Yasmine envied that. Because unfortunately, she had given up.
"This saditty ass, young bitch they brought up in here the other night! She's a fuckin pain in my ass, they are supposed to be moving her up out of here, but shit keeps going left. I don't know what's the deal. And they want me to keep her private. I'm the only one that knows she's here which means I'm the one that has to deal with her." Sitting down in the living area of Cameron's office, she poured herself a drink.
The more and more Yasmine listened to Krystal talk the more suspicious she got.
"Where is she?" She asked
"Down the hall, room #12," Krystal replied, tossing the glass of patron into her mouth
Yasmine was nearing the door when Krystal halted her. "You need a code to get in," she said.
Stopping, Yasmine turned back to face her. "What's the code then?"
"I'm not telling you," Krystal retorted.
"Why not?" Yasmine inquired.
"Because they told me don't let anyone see her, and I'm not putting my ass on the line for you," Krystal said
Walking back over to her ex-best friend, Yasmine looked back one last time to make sure they were alone. "Listen, if it is who I think it is in that room. I could have an escape plan for you and me." She said
"How?" Krys asked
"Family of Cameron's is missing, and if this is her that means Cameron doesn't know about any of this and it's all Anthony and CJ. I could get them to help us disappear and in exchange we don't tell Cameron about what they have done." Yasmine said
As Krystal gazed at her, she considered the offer. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that it seemed overly simple and too good to be true.
"Or you could tell Cameron in exchange for our freedom. I mean come on Yas, I trust Cameron more than Anthony and CJ." She replied
Shaking her head, Yasmine disagreed "Krystal, you know like I know he will never let me go with Chloe. Cameron will never let me go period. But Anthony and CJ would let us go for sure as long as it got the Cartel off their ass. Just trust me." Yasmine begged
Taking a moment to think about what she said, Krystal stood to her feet "Okay, follow me." Leading the way out of the room with Yas on her heels, she was nervous, but she wasn't going to miss out on the one opportunity she had to get away from this life she had been sucked into.
