September 1st, 1992

"Hi, can we come sit here?" A girl with bushy brown hair asked as I looked up from my book. She had two others with her. I wasn't sure who the red-headed one was, but I instantly knew who Harry was.

"Of course," I responded quietly.

After the three sat down, the girl in the middle, the red head at the window, and Harry closer to the door, the girl said, "My name is Hermione Granger, the red head is Ron Weasley, and that's Harry Potter."

"Pleasure to meet you, my name is Amalia Lupin Black," I said, smiling.

Just as I was about to continue reading my book, Harry said, "I feel like I've heard your name before."

"I doubt you have," I responded, looking back up.

"Where are you from?" Ron, the red head, asked after hearing my accent.

"London, but I grew up with my aunt in the United States," I responded.

"Why?" Ron asked.

"Ronald! Stop, that's mean, let her be," Hermione interrupted.

"It's fine; my dad wasn't able to take care of me until my 10th birthday," I replied.

Hermione nodded her head in a form of acknowledgement.

"What year are you in? Were going into our second." Harry asked looking at me curiously.

"There's no way he remembers me or knows who I am," I thought.

"I'm going into my first," I responded.

"My sister is going into her first," Ron responded.

"Maybe me and her will become good friends," I said with a smile growing on my face. After all, I had never had a friend before; it had always been me, Narcissa, and Draco before Dad was able to take care of me.

All of a sudden, a girl who looked about 10 with long red hair pulled the cart open.

"Oh hi, i'm Ginny, Ron's younger sister." She said when she saw me.

"Amalia," I responded with a smile on my face.

Ginny, Ron, Hermione, and Harry all started talking when I rested my head on the cold window as I felt into a deep sleep.
