**Chapter 12: The Plan in Motion**

Jude stood at the door, hesitating for a moment before ringing the bell. It had been a while since he'd seen Laura. Too long, in fact. But her message had been clear-she wanted to talk. He had no idea what to expect, but there was a part of him that wanted closure.

When the door opened, Laura greeted him with a smile that was just a little too sweet, a little too calculated.

"Hey," she said, stepping aside to let him in. "I'm glad you came."

"Right"

He followed her into the apartment, the familiar scent of her perfume bringing back a flood of memories. But they weren't good memories, not anymore. Everything had changed.

She gestured toward the room. "Sit down. I made us a drink. Thought it might be nice to catch up."

Jude nodded, though something in the back of his mind told him this wasn't going to be as simple as she made it seem. But he sat down anyway, trying to shake off the unease that had settled in his chest.

Laura returned with two glasses, handing one to him. "Cheers," she said, her voice soft but with a hint of something he couldn't place.

"Right" he replied, raising his glass to hers before taking a sip. It was smooth, sweet-too sweet. He barely had time to register the taste before the warmth of the alcohol spread through him.

"So, how've you been?" Laura asked, sitting down across from him, her eyes never leaving his face.

"Good, I guess," Jude answered, rubbing the back of his neck. He wasn't sure why she wanted to meet. Things had ended badly between them, and he hadn't heard from her in ages. Still, he could tell there was something different about her. A coldness, maybe. But he didn't push it.

The conversation was casual at first, small talk about life and work, but gradually, Jude began to feel heavy, like his limbs were made of lead. His eyelids grew heavy too, and his vision blurred just slightly.

He shook his head, trying to stay focused. "Laura... what did you put in this drink?"

She leaned forward, her smile sharp, eyes glinting. "Nothing, Jude. Just a little something to help you relax. Don't worry."

But Jude wasn't listening anymore. The dizziness was overwhelming now, his thoughts scattered. His body felt sluggish, like he was sinking into the bed, unable to keep his head up.

"Laura..." he muttered

"Shh," she cooed, leaning in closer. "Just relax. Everything's fine."

But Jude couldn't relax. The world around him was fading, his body betraying him, and the more he fought it, the worse it got. He struggled to stay awake, but the weight of exhaustion was too much. His vision blackened, and before he could make another sound, he slumped back, unconscious.

Laura watched him carefully as his body went limp. She smiled to herself, her heart racing with satisfaction. He was completely under her control now. She stoop up and went to make dinner, after all she did want it to look realistic/

After a few hours, she reached for her phone, snapping a picture of him lying there, vulnerable and unaware.

"I really didn't want to do this baby, but Ty made me have too. Everyone must know you're mine"

She had Jude right where she wanted him

Her trap was set
