After the meal, Pansy stood, linking her arm through mine as we made our way out of the Great Hall. The little group followed, heading down toward the dungeons where the Slytherin common room and dormitories were hidden. The castle seemed to get colder as we kept walking to the lower levels of the castle.

"Our common room and dorms are really down here?" I asked. Pansy smiled, her dark eyes glinting as she looked at me. "Yes, and you're going to love it."

As we walked, Draco passed me, bumping intomy shoulder. "Watch where you're going, Malfoy," I hissed under my breath, but he just smirked and kept walking ahead. Pansy rolled her eyes at his attitude, clearly used to Draco, and the rest of the group seemed to brush it off as well.

We arrived at what seemed to be the entrance to the Slytherin common room—an unassuming blank stone wall in the dungeon corridors. Pansy leaned in and mumbled something under her breath. "Pureblood," she whispered, and the wall shifted, revealing a hidden doorway.

I glanced at her, raising an eyebrow, Pansy just winked. "Password" she explained with a grin.

Draco, who had been scanning the room as we stepped inside, gave a derisive snort. "As a part of THE Black family, your probably more pureblood than most of the people in this school." he declared, his eyes sweeping over the other students lounging around in the common area.

I shook my head, unwilling to dive into the whole pureblood debate. My family history was complicated enough without Malfoy fanboying over it. Instead, I focused on  the common room.

It was... beautiful, in a dark and elegant way. The room was dimly lit by greenish lamps that cast shadows over the stone walls. The ceiling arched high above us, with intricate details carved into the dark wood beams. The entire space had a cold, underwater feel, as though we were beneath a lake. Silver and green tapestries adorned the walls, and the large fireplace crackled with a low, steady flame.

I couldn't help but be impressed.

Before I could take it all in, Pansy turned to the boys, her expression playful. "Well, boys, we're out. I want to have her to myself for a little while before tomorrow."

Before I could protest or even question what she meant, she grabbed my arm and tugged me away from the group. I gave a small wave to the others—Draco, Blaise, and the rest—before Pansy whisked me away down a corridor.

"You'll get used to him Draco." Pansy said, glancing over her shoulder as she led me through the winding hallway. "He can be a bit of a prat, but once you figure him out, he's tolerable."

I laughed lightly, even though I wasn't entirely sure I would ever find Draco Malfoy tolrerable.

Pansy finally stopped in front of a door and pushed it open, revealing a cozy room with several beds, each draped in green and silver. The dormitory was quiet, a stark contrast to the bustling common room we had just left behind. She turned to me, a sly smile playing on her lips.

"This is where we will be staying," she said, gesturing toward one of the empty beds. "Welcome to Slytherin, Cass."

"Thanks," I muttered, sitting down on the bed she pointed to.

Pansy sat beside me, crossing her legs and leaning back against the bedpost. "I'm glad you're here," she said, her tone more serious than before. "You're different from the others. I can tell. And I think we're going to get along just fine."

I smiled faintly, unsure of what to make of her sudden shift in mood, but I appreciated the comment.

"We'll find out," I replied.

I liked Pansy. She seemed fun, lively, and a lot more interesting than I thought. As we settled into the room, she looked at me with a playful look in her eyes.
