Can I just say, life is easy. Most people clasp it as an obstacle but honestly, it's a roller coaster that only goes up. Well, at least for me it is. Lets just say I'm a complete outcast. Every stage of school I was one and I'm proud of it. I can't stand the snooty cool kids and always dreaded being one. They drive me insane! With the rumours, the break-ups, the havoc, the confusion just everything. Their life is a status update, literally. Personal business spreads like quick fire. And when I say quick fire I mean keep your mouth shut or you'll have to live in Hell for a while! Not that high school isn't already a living Hell, but moving on, I get straight A's on my reports and tests. I'm a straight A student. I can't be bothered to deal with the make-belief nonsense lashing out of the cools kids' mouths.
People flood these corridors. I'm surprised you can even call them corridors, they're so slim! As I was squeezing through I bumped into someone, knocking their wrist which caused their books to fall on the floor. It was Skylar Blue. Yes, she was a cool kid but I still respect her, after all, I've been told that I'm a very considerate person. "Oh gosh, I'm sorry Skylar! So small these corridors!" I complained. "Yeah, I know right. If I was the principal I'd be all up in the foundation business by now." She giggled. "Man, who wouldn't?" I said with a sassy attitude. "Well, I better get off to class.... Here's my number, we can talk sometime?" She said with a sugary smile. "Sure." I waved her of and looked at the gaping mouths swarming around me. Boys were literally swooning at her as she turned a corner and have one last glimpse at me along with a little wave.
I sat down at my assigned desk and tugged at my uniform. This navy blue skirt was too short and the fully buttoned blouse was too baggy. What a life, la la la la la.
I pulled out my phone and put my earplugs in, listening to These Four Walls by Little Mix. The teacher walked in so I paused the track and slipped the phone back into an available pocket of my bag. "OK, class, so today we are going to be continuing with our Victorian's project." Mrs.Leing spoke, projecting her voice towards the back of her room. "What year was the Victorian balance set..... Summer?" I snapped my head up at the small Chinese smiling woman and answered the question. "Around the 1800's Mrs.Leing." Her smile grew wider since she was impressed. "Correct!" She clapped her hands together and started writing on the chalk board. She turned around and spoke again. "The date and today's objective is on the board, please turn to page 56 of your text books." She sat down in her chair and picked up a large pile of books to mark.
A vicious ping soared through my ears signalling free period. I picked up my belongings and shuffled over to my locker. I saw Skylar and her friends, Mia Wilson and Amber Clovers, standing by my locker, inspecting their manicured nails. They were the drama twins, they're not literally twins but they're the ones that cause the drama. Skylar is the pretty face that everyone obeys. It's a hard life. "Hiya, Summer!" Skylar chirped happily. "Hi Skylar." I said anxiously. "Hey, just call me Skye!" She reminded politely. "Sure thing!" I replied. Mia and Amber waved nicely. I smiled at them then turned to my locker, fiddling with the lock.
