𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄, 𝐁𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒I quietly opened the garage door and snuck in the house. I was smart enough to take my heels off before I walked in, but I don't know where exactly Zy is, and that alone made my stomach do continuous summersaults.
For all I know he was waiting around the next corner. Hopefully, he got his anger out on the game before I got here, and maybe he's in a better mood.
"Amina?" I heard his voice from the living room, and I gulped as I shut the door.
"Yes, Zy?" I ask, placing my purse on the counter. I knew where he was, but I couldn't figure out his mood. I wanna lie and say my hands weren't shaking like a stripper in the could, and I wasn't sweating like a sinner in church. But I was, I was terrified.
In my own home. My place that's supposed to be my safety from the rest of the world, I was afraid.
"Come here, baby." He said gently, and I clutched my hands together as I walked into the living room. He was sitting on the couch with his two homeboys, and that gave me a bit of relief.
I knew him, his public appearance meant a lot to him. He wouldn't do nothing crazy in front of his friends, so I was safe as long as they were here.
"Hi, baby." I lean down and give him a kiss on his cheek, trying to remain in his good graces while also giving the appearance that we were still a happy, healthy couple.
"Can you get me something to drink out the fridge? We were smoking and my mouth is dry." He tells me, and I nod.
"You want water or a Gatorade?" I rub his shoulder, and he shrugs, so I go to the kitchen and bring him both, as well as some extra in case his friends needed some too. I didn't need him getting on my case about being a bad host.
"Thank you. You finna go shower?" He opened his drink and I nod, and he turned back to his conversation.
I took that as my cue and grabbed my purse, all but running up the stairs. I wanted to be out of his line of sight for the rest of the night.
I showered, and when I got out to wash my face, I noticed the dark marks on my face. It's been a couple hours, and they were starting to turn a dark shade of red. I'd have to put on extra makeup tomorrow so they aren't noticeable.
I put on a pair of baggy black sweats and an old concert shirt. I decided to sit at my desk and do some work to pass the time, and before I knew it, Zy walked into the room and laid in the bed, on top of the covers.
