Yan Jue has crossed into a novel, becoming a fox demon in a story about cultivating and exterminating demons.

In the book, she is a cannon fodder villain who needs to seduce the male lead madly to absorb his yang energy to improve her cultivation.

The female lead, on the other hand, is the cold and aloof Master Qi Xianqing of the Zhenhuo Sect, who has killed countless demons and is not of this world.

Yan Jue knows very well the fate of competing with the female lead for a man. The final outcome is that she gets pierced through the chest by the cold female lead Qi Xianqing's sword, and her heart is ripped out to be used as a precious material for alchemy in the Shuiyun Sect.

She seems to have been designed just to be a target for the male and female leads, never living past the tenth chapter.

Yan Jue thus devised a meticulous plan: first, she would stick close to the female lead to gain some experience, and once her cultivation improved, she would escape the mountain.

However, Yan Jue soon discovered that the female lead Qi Xianqing has a rare celestial spirit body, and her blood has a deadly attraction for demons.

Every time Yan Jue sees Qi Xianqing, her legs go weak, and she feels an urge to hug her and breathe in her scent.

Later, when Yan Jue finally prepared to descend the mountain, she saw the cool and aloof senior sister walking toward her.

Yan Jue instinctively felt her legs weaken, and Qi Xianqing caught her in her arms.

Qi Xianqing gently rubbed the fox ears that accidentally showed and softly asked, "Don't leave, okay?"

The heavens do not comply with human wishes. During the day, Yan Jue looks like a human, but at night she transforms back into her fox demon form.

One night, while taking a stroll, she encountered the senior sister Qi Xianqing practicing swordsmanship by the spirit pond.

Seeing Qi Xianqing's icy expression, Yan Jue's fur stood on end, and she turned to escape.

Qi Xianqing suddenly squatted down, holding a bone that seemed to have come from nowhere, her eyes sparkling with delight: "Come here."

Unexpectedly, the seemingly ethereal senior sister, untouched by the world, loves furry creatures the most. Under the moonlight, she would sit by the spirit pond and chat with a fox.

Unconsciously, Yan Jue discovered many of Qi Xianqing's secrets.

During the day, Qi Xianqing appeared as a perfect couple with the male lead, a pair envied by everyone in the sect.
At night, Qi Xianqing would stroke Yan Jue's head, looking fatigued: "I only knew him (the male lead) as an acquaintance. I don't understand why he keeps pestering me."
"..."

During the day, Qi Xianqing led the sect to unearth the den of a thousand-year-old pangolin spirit, showing no emotion at the sight of its helpless young.
At night, while holding the little fox Yan Jue, she murmured, "We shouldn't have dug up the den. It takes three years for a pangolin spirit to make a new one. Its babies are so adorable; they'll probably starve and freeze."
"..."

During the day, Qi Xianqing used her sword to push Yan Jue's hand away, her gaze filled with disdain and indifference.
At night, Qi Xianqing would rub the little fox's ears, looking troubled: "There's a disciple named Yan from the neighboring sect. I... feel strange, like I might like her a bit."
Yan Jue: "?" The little fox didn't understand anything.

One day, after drinking too much, Yan Jue accidentally revealed her pitch-black ears in front of Qi Xianqing.

She took a step back to flee, but the next second, Qi Xianqing grabbed her.

Holding Yan Jue's collar, Qi Xianqing's frosty face showed no emotion: "Knowing so many of my secrets, you still want to run?"
Yan Jue pleaded, "Senior Sister, how about I wager my life against it..."
Qi Xianqing smiled and stroked her ear: "Your life isn't needed; just stay by my side."

In this lifetime, Qi Xianqing has taken exterminating demons as her life's principle.

Countless demons have perished at her hands, and she has never felt soft-hearted.

But Qi Xianqing never expected that she would fall for a demon.

She had once scorned the kings who were enchanted by foxes. But when it happened to her, all she wanted was to indulge in tenderness and pamper the fox.

She would willingly go through fire and water for her.
