Learning and having fun

Well, as you noticed, I had to spend two whole hours sitting down listening to an old man of almost 80 years old talk about one thing, physics. Except for the times when I went to the bathroom, Sheldon complained, saying that I was going to "valuable" things, but I went anyway. What's up? I can't control my bladder, no.

When I left, for the second time, I went to drink water. Coming back, I came across a biology room, it was beautiful. I walked into the room, and it was completely different from a regular biology room, as high school. Since I was little, I wanted to be a biologist, but then I gave up, my family never gave me much support, they wanted me to have a job that would give me more money. But I really value a job that I love. But not everyone agrees, right?

The room smelled like biology, and there was even a funny little skeleton. I named him Perivaldo that day. It was funny.
I ended up forgetting about class, and I was there for a while traveling. Until a boy showed up.

-Did you like? It's very nice, isn't it?
-Of coure! It's the best room I've ever seen in my life.
-I helped build it, like, by asking for it, you know? Before the renovation, this place was chaos. -He laughed.
-I see. Well, thank you very much, my friend appreciates it, while I was in California, he couldn't stop talking about it, and how he loved doing experiments here. It must be really amazing to work in science.
-And how. Tell your friend and I'll thank you.
-Sure. And... You are?
-Oh, yeah, I'm Mike.
-Cool, I'm Maya. Nice to meet you. Uh... Do you know what time it is? I must be late, Sheldon must be waiting for me.
-Are you friends with Sheldon?

-Yes, I am, do you know him?
-Of course. On the first day of school, he was a mess, his pants torn, which he tried to fix with duct tape, his face swollen from a bee sting and his shirt stained with something red. -He paused to laugh at the memory. -It was very funny. Except for him, poor thing.
-What? He never told me that. How crazy.
-And he even said he was the future of the world. Very good, but anyway, it's two in the afternoon, he must be leaving by now.
-Okay, thanks. Bye, Mike, have a good day.
-You're welcome. Have a nice day, doll.

What went through my mind at that moment was hunger, and... WHAT? Who does this guy think he is to call me that? What a sucker.

Giving more importance to my hunger, I looked for Sheldon, and to my surprise he was nowhere to be found. I also didn't see Paige anywhere. Another headache.

-Sheldon? SHELDON! -I screamed and nothing. Only later did I realize that they were still in the room, and I was screaming like crazy throughout the school. What happened was that the students had a surprise test, and they had to leave later, that is, when they finished the test.

To my delight, the geniuses were the first to finish. Then, we can choose where to have lunch. Of course, I suggested that we go to Chuck and Cheese and look, they accepted! I was starving.

-Hmm... This is wonderful! How I love my sister for introducing me to this place. -I said, after chewing a piece of a hamburger.

-Yeah, I want to thank her, personally. -Paige smiled.

-Let me tell her. And how's your salad, Sheldon? -A small laugh escaped.
-Great. Ha-ha, how funny.
-Come on, Shelly! It's so funny how you're so poor that you can't even afford a snack at a little diner. You even say you forgot your wallet, I know.-Paige scoffed at him.

I didn't really understand how the dynamic between two geniuses worked, you know, they were total opposites of each other, and Paige was going through a difficult time at the time, with her parents separating, but I didn't know, probably didn't like to talk about it. But, I really didn't understand. But nowadays I understand, we're still friends to this day. But there's no more Chuck and Cheese, damn it!

After Sheldon dropped Paige off at her house. He took me home, too, but he didn't want to stay for dinner because he had a lot of homework to do. So, I bugged him, and he was forced to accept me in his room, messing with his comics, trains, and his precious computer.

-What games are on it?
-I don't need to say it. You're not going to play anyway.
-Are these the ones on the shelves?
-Damn, why am I so organized? Don't touch.
-Ugh. Okay, okay. -I got out of the chair and climbed onto his bed to see what hieroglyphics he was writing. Not that the handwriting is horrible, but the physics are very confusing. Well, for me it is.

-What it was?
-I'm just looking. You can continue. By the way, what did the teacher say in class today?

He sighed. -So thoughtful.
-Look, I'll kick your ass. -I smiled and he gave a small laugh.

-You shouldn't, I always helped you with your homework.
-Worse still, it's true. But, are you finishing?
-If you would stop talking.
-Boring.
-Shh.

He was annoying, but he was my annoying best friend.

When he finished the lesson, which was two minutes later, I started talking to him about the biology room, and about the boy, Mike.

-Weird. I thought only George called you something like that. That's a new one.
-That's right. But it made me want to study there a little.
-And why doesn't it change?
-Come on, I can't leave California to study here. Not to belittle you, but I'll never get a doctorate with the name of that one school on my resume. I think I actually agree with you going to Germany, but... Don't forget, only after I leave.
-I know. I promised.
-Good thing you know. Well, since you're done, do you want to cook your favorite dish? Today is Thursday.
-I don't trust your cooking skills, but let's see.
-Yay! Your mom will love me even more, because by cooking we are giving her a break. And she needs it. Come on, let's go!
