In the morning, I woke up in a bad mood and got up straight to the kitchen, smelling the delicious smell of bacon and eggs.

-Just food to get you out of bed, huh. -My mother, she said.
-Mom, stop, please.
-You know I love you, don't you, grumpy little girl?
-Mom!
-Okay, okay, I stopped.

-And... Mom?
-What? -My mother said this, while cooking the eggs.
-About Mandy, is she okay? What happened?
-Oh, Mandy...
-What do you mean by "Oh, Mandy..."?
-Honey, I need to tell you something important.
-Well, now I'm awake.

-Yesterday, Mandy was vomiting a lot, but her discomfort was due to some bad food, she is actually...
-With cancer!?
-No, girl, listen to me. She is pregnant!
-WHAT?!
-Lower your voice!
-Uh, what?! How- Oh, damn. Georgie?
-What do you think?

-Oh God. Why? How is she feeling about this?
-Bad. But it will be okay. They are old enough. But I expected it to happen after marriage.
-Are you not angry?
-No, sweetie. Just surprise.
-Well, me too. I dare say that father, Georgie, doesn't know yet, does he?
-Not yet. But we intend to tell him today.
-Good...

-Mandy...? -I knocked on her door three times. -Can you open the door for me? Please? I want to talk a little.
-Do you already know?
-Hm, about... what?
-You know.
-So... Yes.
-You can come in.
-Thanks. -I walked in, and saw her lying on the bed, looking out her window. The view, sad, was raining.

-I just wanted to say that I'm happy and sad at the same time, you know... You know I can feel what you feel. I love you, and I don't want to see you like this.

-I know you're not young anymore, and I know I can talk seriously to you now. So, just so you know, people talk and judge, we are Baptists, what do you think they will say about me?
-But, anyone needs to know.
‐But go.
-Mandy, you can't be more concerned about what people think than what God thinks.
-I already said it. I wish I had faith like yours. Because at least you don't find God in the supermarket.

-Mandy...
-How am I going to tell Georgie this?
-He is a good man and a hard worker. You are also a woman, you have become a wonderful person and if he really loves you, he will help you.
-Maybe. But I can't say.
-Write a letter. You write well.
-That's not a bad idea. Thank you, my princess. Come here. -I ran and hugged her.

‐Not too hard, I don't want to crush the baby. -I laughed. -What? Too early?
-Silly. -She laughed. -I love you, princess.
-I love me too. -She smiled.

I hadn't noticed, but later my mother told me that she was seeing our cute scene, comforting each other, she cried.

-And now, I need you to deliver this letter to Georgie, okay?
-Okay, I'll do. -Sheldon, said.
-Thank you. But... I wanted to know, how you feel about you'll be a uncle? For me, that's a little funny.
-In short, I think I feel strange about this news. I don't like changes. But if the baby is quiet, I will love him very much.
-Of course he will. And you know, I think you'll love him, even if he's yelling, drinking and drooling all over you.
-Yuck! -I laughed.
-I knew it. But now it's serious. Go give this to Georgie.
-Okay, auntie.
-Idiot. Go now.

He gave the letter to Georgie, but he didn't leave the garage he called home until he had finished reflecting on everything he had read.

Talking to Sheldon and Missy, I told Sheldon to go talk to him.

-Why him? It will only make the situation worse.
-Missy, trust in me. Sheldon, go talk to your brother.
-Maya?
-Really. You can say you hate him, but he's a good listener. And you know it.
-Maybe... And I know I say I hate him, but I don't. I love him, but he's annoying in everything he does. It's not my fault.
-Yes, I know. -I laughed, and invited her to tell the others.

I wasn't there with the two of them, but Sheldon told me that the conversation was calm and sad, but that Georgie seemed to be handling it well, according to what Mandy wrote.

-WHAT?
-IS THAT TRUE? I'M GOING TO...
-SHUT UP! LET THEM TALK! YOU EMPTY HEADS!

During the news, this was the confusion that was growing in the dining room.

-Thanks, Meemaw. I wanted to say that Mandy is fine, and she is not mad at Georgie, so much so that she did not make the baby alone, and neither did I or my mother, she has been worrying about people's comments about her, or our family, but do not get excited, keep calm, it is a very welcome life, and if you want to scream, scream with joy, not anger. This child is going to be born, and I know that Mandy and Georgie love each other enough to get married.

Everyone was quiet.

-If you could please sit down...

When everyone was seated, someone opened the door, it was Mandy, at the same moment Georgie and Sheldon came back from the garage. My mother had also come.

-Georgie...
-Mandy...
-Marry me?
-Uh- Wha- Mandy, I know I'm not the smartest person in the world...

At this point, I know Sheldon He held himself back from saying that the most intelligent person in the world was right there beside him.

-But the only thing I'm sure of is that I love you. And I want to marry you. But let's pretend I asked you, okay?

Everyone laughed. He ran to her and kissed her, holding her tightly and spinning her around. It was probably the most romantic scene of my life, second only to my own marriage proposal.

That night, everything was fine. Especially with the "powerful cookies from Meemaw" as Sheldon mentioned.

Amen.
