(A/N: The song was just for a little laugh. If you listen to it then read, you'll understand why I put it in lol . I'm going to try and post more pictures with this story but I don't have a specific person to play the characters so it might be pictures of what I think the characters look like in certain parts of the chapter. I also wanted to dedicate this chapter to a really cool guy. He got me motivated to start writing this again so I put a little of him into Chris ^_^ Thanks bud!!!! -Storywriter19)
The next four days were just like the first. Charlie and I started hanging out along with Clara and Chris. She showed me around the music building and told me stories about things that happened at Safe Haven but were covered up because it wasn't supposed to be 'true'.
Like this one story about this guy who was a senator's kid and the senator apparently got in on some bad deals with a gang. The gang ended up threatening his son. So some agency took the son to Safe Haven for protection. But the gang found out where he was taken and came after him. There was this whole battle in the forest and finally the gang was taken care of so the guy was able to go home. But to Charlie the school covered it up; saying that the guy transferred back home. Of course I didn't believe it. The school was too boring to have something like that happen.
"They also have students placed around campus with the people who are being protected. Like if Tabby was in danger, all her friends or at least most of them would be her body guards. Like this whole school is a big lie. They use the money our parents pay in tuition to fund their little protection agency. It's completely unfair for the rest of us who have to use scholarships to attend here." She said pushing her pasta around on her plate.
"Well if this is all true then I think it's kinda cool. Protecting kids who receive death threats at every turn they make." She gave me a weird look. "Think about it if you were in danger and you had the option of just toughing it out or coming here for protection, which option would you choose?"
She was silent for a minute before sighing.
"Ok ya, I'd choose to be protected. But its still ruffles my feathers." She got up and pushed her chair in. "I'll see you later, Cabela. I'm going to practice my piano piece."
She left without saying another word. Great, I ticked her off. Charlie was huge into conspiracy theories and if you dissed one she got angry. I guess she considers what I said as a diss.
"Hey, why'd Charlie leave?" Chris asked, taking her spot across from me.
"I guess I dissed one of her theories about Safe Haven. Oops." I said shoving some of my pasta in my mouth.
"What was this one about?" He asked looking concerned.
"Something about a guy and some gang."
"Oh that one." He said shaking his head and digging into his food. "That one is her favorite because the guy, Zach was his name, was only here for a short time and he would disappear into the forest for long periods of time. She thinks it's all proof."
"What did he do in the woods?" I asked.
"Smoke weed or something." He said through a mouthful of burger. "You know stuff that's illegal. The dude was an idiot."
"Well then." Clara said sitting down next to me. "How nice of you to say that about Zach."
"How'd you know we were talking about Zach?" I asked looking at her.
"There's only one person Chris will call an idiot and that's Zach. They were lab partners and Zach never showed up and when he did, he was high.
"Lost my 4.0 GPA because of him." Chris grumbled.
