One evening, Damian, the well-liked male teacher, calls Cassandra, the less popular female teacher who always works overtime, and asks her to tell Lila to meet him after class. Later, he changes his mind and tells her not to bother, but it turns out the message was already delivered. Damian shrugs it off, assuming Lila has gone home.
At 7 PM, Lila calls Damian. "I'm in the classroom, like Ms. Cassandra said. She told me you wanted to meet me." Damian, already at home, furrows his brow. He hadn't asked Cassandra to set up any meeting after all. Slightly irritated but assuming it must have been a simple misunderstanding, he agrees to meet her there.
At the same time, Ethan and three of his friends head back to school, having realized they forgot an important part of their project. As they arrive, they spot Damian at the school entrance. He explains that he's heading back to check on something and suggests they walk together. As they make their way down the dim, quiet hallway, the air grows thick with an eerie stillness, as if the building itself were holding its breath. Even the guard, who joins them as they approach the classroom, looks uneasy.
