71- The chef

Nandini let out a sigh rethinking all the incidents she had with Manik, how every time he was mean to her obtain her best. Unknowingly he has been part of her success all the while when she was so busy hating him he returned everything to her being a guardian. Indeed he kept his promise to provide her best life.

"Doesn't his father love him?"

"He is a psychopath. In my opinion, no woman can live with him so his mom's choice was right, but she should've fought for Manik then going away that way"

"But she was dead. None deserves to die for divorce," Nandini argued.

"Something was unclear, but whatever Manik only saw his father doing stuff and randomly filling his mind with dirt. He never had a homely woman in his entire life, it's not fear it's just he thinks everyone will leave him so he prohibited himself from living with anyone. But unknowingly he loves all of us. He can do anything to keep us safe, even if it takes his life. He could destroy the world for you. If this was not love, I don't know what love it then," Zach concluded, leaving her.

"Hmm, you think he was right?" Nandini asked Jenny in a mere whisper, "Yes, but that doesn't make you forgive his past or love him. It's just stop hating him and try being a friend. We want you to see the truth, only truth. You need to relax first. I know it's hard to process so much information at once, like it changed the entire view of the person. You're still struggling with your ex mess and now this, it's hard. Maybe time can teach you how to heal your heart."

"Why none of you told me this before?"

"You never asked, and Manik doesn't want to tell you about his evil father and justify his deeds. He was guilty in real. Lastly, you are not ready to accept the truth"

"I'm sorry for giving you all a hard time"

"It's accepted. So, are we good, my sis?" Jenny chuckled, opening her arms for a hug. Nandini smiled, hugging her tight. "Thanks for staying by my side all the time. Thanks for being my family"

"We should thank Manik for this, if he hadn't called us that day we might have never met" that simple words hit Nandini like a truck, he was the reason for everything all the good things happened only by him her Mom, Jenny, Zach, Lily he gifted her a family which is priceless just like her virginity. He literally made her childhood dream true that's having a family with people loving her like having siblings, she indeed asked her mom to marry someone and have a family but her mom was so stuck to meet the ends to feed themselves not to end up homeless and let officials take away her child, her only hope.

"Where was he now?" Nandini asked after a silence that confused Jenny a little.

"Why?"

"I wanna meet him once and say thanks"

"Ok then, don't hurry yourself into anything. Already you took enough decisions, now be slow and figure out things properly before you start," Jenny dropped good advice, getting her nod. "In his penthouse, but I suggest you not to meet him in the place where your past may trigger you. It's unhealthy for a good start"

"Umm then, where should I meet him? He was avoiding me"

"Did you hit him like you hit Harry that day breaking the car window with his not-so-handsome face" Jenny laughed, remembering the live report Zach told her in a video call showing his wife the artwork of broken glass done by Nandini.

Nandini laughed. "Not that hard, but I slapped him twice, and he was okay back then, but..."

"But?" Jenny asked, so confused, Nandini explained the things that happened that evening, how Manik left all of a sudden.
