Ela

"You hold it like this and you try to hit the red dot in the middle." I turn to Kenan and glare at him and his dumbed down version as he lets go of my hand that holds the dart. "I think I got it, honey."

"Let's go, Ela! We're almost ahead!" Duru cheers me on. She had started the game and now it was my turn, "babe, you guys literally started, of course you're going to be ahead." Arda chuckles at his girlfriend and I turn back to the dartboard.

Kenan leans against the leather coach with his arms crossed as he watches me with a playful glint in his eyes. I turn back to the dartboard and throw the dart, I hit a spot with a 3. Yikes. Pull yourself together, Ela. You need to win!

Kenan snorts and Duru glares at him, "you're distracting her!"

"Alright, alright," Kenan shows his open palms and returns to watching me.

I roll my shoulders to relieve them of the tension, I find my target and throw the dart. 10. My last dart hits 1 and I back away from the spot, feeling angry at my performance. Kenan brushes against me as he walks towards the board and murmurs, "now watch how it's done."

I take his spot on the couch and cross my arms. Please God, let him fail.

Of course he doesn't. He's good. Very good.

"I mean this is unfair, of course you're good at this, this is literally what you do every day!" I spit out, outraged at his performance. Arda starts backing his friend up as said friend smirks at me from the distance and pulls the darts out of the board before handing them to Arda.

"A bet is a bet, Ela. You can't start complaining now." Arda says before he turns to the board, he cocks his head, indicating to Duru that he wants a good luck kiss from her. I glare at her to not do it but she eventually gives him a peck before he starts.

"Yeah, Ela. You can't start complaining now." Kenan takes the spot beside me before placing his arm around me and pulling me to his side. He brushes a kiss on top of my head and though I am irritated I find myself relaxing into his arms.

Arda doesn't do too bad either, unfortunately for Duru and I. I lost count of how many times we went up against the boy until we're done. Everybody turns to Kenan who holds the paper with the numbers on it. "Arda, think we might've underestimated our girls." Kenan says. "Nah," Arda shakes his head and Kenan whoops, "of course not, we won, baby!"

The slap their hands in a hand shake and do the hug thing as Duru and I frown, "no way, we were so good..." she crosses her arms as I continue giving her that look, "okay, fine. We sucked."

I let out a giggle and nod, "we were so bad."

"Hey ladies, if you need a teacher call us, cause you just got schooled."

I wince at Arda, "Arda, please just stop already, do you hear yourself say these things?"

Arda nods as he snorts, "you're right, I only do it to annoy you girls though."

Duru shakes her head as she grabs Arda's arm. "Honey, we should go to the hotel now, it's been a long day."

"What?" I say before walking over, "we barely spent time."

Duru smiles, "we'll hang out again, don't worry. It's been very tiring though." I nod, "alright."

"We'll see you to the door," Kenan says as we all walk towards the entrance.

"I had a great time guys, we'll text you tomorrow." Arda grabs Duru's hand and they walk towards their car. "Drive carefully," Kenan shouts to him as his hand tightens around my waist. I blow a kiss to our friends as they drive off.

I turn around and walk back into the lounge to gather the bowls and cups to carry them to the kitchen. "Let me wash them," Kenan says as he silently follow me and places them in the sink before grabbing the soap and sponge. I nod silently and grab a dry towel. We silently work on the dishes. After we're done I take Balthazar with me to the bedroom and get ready for bed.

Kenan doesn't deserve my silence, I know it. We made a bet, we lost and now I have to live with it and not be petty. But I am so curious and jealous of the girl in his necklace. What does she have that I don't and if Kenan were to respect me he wouldn't carry anybody else aound his neck, would he?

Balthazar meows as I pat him, looking towards the other side of the bed. "I know baby, papa is gonna come soon."

I settle further into the bed before Kenan enters our room. "Meow."

Balthazar darts towards Kenan and rubs himself against his legs, "traitor," I mumble before turning my back to both boys.

I only hear Kenan's chuckle before he settles into bed with our fur baby. "How long are you going to ignore me, bunny?"

"Not ignoring you," I mumble into the blanket. I'm not. I'm just mad and upset and-

I shriek as I'm pulled into a hard but warm chest. I wait a beat before starting to talk, "I'm sorry, I have no right to act this way, you won and-"

Something dangles in the air in front of my face, I focus my eyes and then I recognize it.

I turn to Kenan and snuggle against his chest, his dimple appears as I do so and I resist kissing him in that moment. "I can't Kenan, we made a bet and I have to honor it."

He strokes my cheek before shaking his head, "I know you're dying to know what's in there."

I roll my eyes, "more like who." He snorts before giving me the necklace once again, "open it, but don't be upset." My stomach churns at his words. I take the necklace and look up one last time, "are you sure?" He nods before I open his locket.

A little girl is smiling at me. Her cheek still full and dimples piercing through them softly. Her small lips are stretched and her eyes are twinkling. Her blonde hair is in pigtails.

"I've been carrying a girl that's very dear to me."

I look at the other side and there's another photo that was never captured by the paparazzi. Me at the beach, my hair ist still wet and clinging to my face, a wild smile is on my face, my nose scrunched up that earned me the title 'bunny'.

"That's-"

"You?" I nod as he sighs, "did you really think I would carry someone other than you? We talked with your sisters once and they had shown me childhood pictures of you. I thought that you are the cutest child to exist and had to put it in my necklace. I was thinking, 'so this is where the blonde undertone in her hair comes from, she's a brunette who used to be blonde'."

I shake my head as I start to feel my cheeks burn up from embarrassment, "I thought it was an adult, can't fault me for not thinking of my childhood hair."

Kenan chuckles as he presses me closer to his chest and pecks my forehead, "are you relieved now?"

I nod sheepishly and kiss him on the lips, "I'm sorry for doubting you. I love you."

He caresses my cheeks before nodding, "it's okay, I love you."

"Meow," we both turn towards Balthazar who watches us and burst into laughter. I grab him and snuggle him closer to us. I kiss his head before settling on Kenan's chest.
