"Leah. Cassie. My office please."

I lifted my head to to the door as Alex called out, his voice sounded firm and a little mad.

Brilliant.

I turned my head catching Cassie's eyes. I furrowed my brows as she looked at me with an angry glare. My nose lifting as if there was a bad smell in the air.

I stood from the bench, Kim offered a sweet reassuring smile as I walked to exit the changing room.

"Now look what you've done." Cassie huffed as I walked behind her to Alex's office.

"What I've done?" I replied abruptly. "You realise you tackled me to the ground and now I am out again right?"

Cassie turned her head sightly as she continued taking strides forward, "not my fault you have weak knees and can't handle a contact sport."

I rolled my eyes choosing not to respond.

I have never had someone annoy me as much as she did with each breath, each sentence. And for some reason through all the annoyance, it still wasn't my main thought about her.

Confusion.

She confused me.

Why did she actually hate me this much?

Was it really because I took her spot on the team? A spot that was mine, a spot that she was holding while I was injured.

Surely you couldn't have this much hate for someone you hardly knew, right?

"Leah, shut the door please before you take a seat." Alex said as we entered his office.

I moved the seat another two centimetres from Cassie as she sat down in one of the chairs opposite Alex.

She scoffed as she clocked it, shaking her head and then looking to Alex as if to say, childish.

I sat down and crossed my arms in front of my chest.

The atmosphere was warm, inviting. It felt like the kind of atmosphere you would want to be sat in right now.

Wrong.

It was cold, the tension confusing as I wasn't really sure why I was invited.

Cassie tackled me. Lets not forget that. I plummeted to the ground due to her jealousy and rage, yet I was being made to sit here and listen to her rant about how hard she had worked for this team and this club while I was sat at home. How much she carried this team during my absence.

"I think you'll find you aren't the captain, Kim is." I chimed in, humbling her immediately.

"Do you not listen, when did I say I was the captain?" She snapped back.

"You said you carried this team, you led them." I replied, my eyebrow hooked to express my confusion.

"Yeah, how is that me saying I was captain?"

"You didn't lead this team, Kim did and she did a pretty fucking good job as she always does. Don't get me wrong, you played a good game. But humble yourself, you did not lead the team."

Cassie scoffed again.

"Just needed to be said." I added holding my hands in the air before crossing them again.

"I didn't mean it like that, Kim is a great leader. I meant it more like holding a position well. I lead the back line." Her reply was firm, her face was tense and stern as she shifted her eyes between Alex and I.

"Okay, we are diverting from what my original question was." Alex said sitting up straight in his seat. "What is the issue between the two of you?" He repeated.
