Axel

And I saved the best for last.' My teacher smiled as she announced the last test. 'And the highest grade in this class belongs to... Axel Thorne!'

An applause erupted in the classroom from all the students. I fet proud of myself.

I got up from my chair and bended forward, a hand in front of my stomach and I slowly bow on each side.

The applause stopped and I continued to step forward to the teacher.

'Congrats, Axel. What time did you hit the jackpot this week? Third, maybe?' My teacher asked as she handed me my math test.

'Fourth, actually.'

Red ink in the corner. 96%. The corners of my lips formed into a smirk as I continued to admire the test while walking back to my seat.

'You're either a brag or a nerd, Ax. Oh wait... You're both.' Nora laughed as I sat back on my seat.

'At least I passed.' I waved the test infront of her face. She snatched it away from me and studied it slowly.

'A 96%? Seriously? You couldn't get anything higher?'

'Says the one who got a 43%.'

Nora shot me a glare and a moment later we were both laughing. She's my best friend.

And the bell rings.

All the kids run out of the classroom, wasting no time of the break.

As I'm walking through the hallway, I wave my test in front of every student's and teacher's face. Everybody shoots me a glare of jealousy.

They can't get this high no matter how hard they try.

I saw my boys, Max and Jason. Their backs are leaning against the lockers as they talk with two of my girls, whose names I don't remember.

'Here comes the nerd!' Max yells as I approach the group. When I reach the guys, I stand infront of them as my eyes are watching theirs. 'Let's see, shall we?'

Max snatched the test from my hands as I smirked.

'96%?' Jason added. 'How much did you study last night?'

'Hm... I didn't.' I chuckle. 'Well, I did actually. But it was human anatomy, not math.'

Max and Jason laugh.

My gaze is not leaving theirs as they watch in suprise when each of the girls take slow steps to my sides. I put both arms over their shoulders and pull them closer.

'I guess someone else wants to study human anatomy with me, huh?'

Redness slowly fills the girls' cheeks.

I can hear the light sound of girls giggling and laughing just a few feet away from us. When the two girls I was talking to release my grasp from their shoulders and head over to join the crowd, I finally turn my head to see a group of girls gathered, caught up in a moment of excitement and admiration.

A tall boy walks past them. With every move he makes, he shoots an effortless charm that seems to captivate the entire group. The girls glance at one another, sharing knowing smiles, and their giggles echo as he passes by, clearly enjoying the attention.

His ginger fluffy hair is crowned with a carefree tousle. The way it bounces with each easy stride adds an extra layer of charisma, making him seem almost otherworldly. His deep-set eyes, a striking shade of emerald scan the surroundings with a playful glint.

Every girl I've been with is watching him with a gaze they can't tear away. One of them nudges her friend, a wide grin spreading across her face, and another playfully rolls her eyes, pretending to swoon. The boy glances over his shoulder, catching their eyes for a brief moment.

When I turn my head back to Max and Jason, I notice that they are almost swooning over him too. A mellow voice grabs my attention. 'Hey, excuse me?'

I turn around and see the boy standing by us and talking. 'Do you guys know where class B2 is?'

'Are you new?'

'Yes, I am. I'm Nathan.' He said, extending his hand with a friendly smile.

'I'm Axel.' came the reply as I stepped forward, a genuine grin on my face. Our hands met in a firm handshake, the kind that conveyed confidence and mutual respect.

I hope Max and Jason are thinking the same thing as me. Based on how the girls are swooning over this dude, he's about to become one of us.

'B2 is my class.' I answer.

'That's... great. Do you sit with anyone?'

I hesitate for a moment, but then answer. 'No. You can sit with me.'

The boy smiles at me.

'What about Nora?' Max asks.

I shoot a glare at him and he gives me one back. I'm about to smack him, but I keep my cool. 'Right. Nora. Let's go tell her.'

My hand gestures to Nathan to follow me, while I take a step back. I look for Nora through the halls.

I finally spot her. She's leaning on her locker with her shoulder, turned to someone else. We slowly approach them, as the girl she's talking to slowly starts to show more and more.
