,,You're late!", June called, not very happy about me, hastily walking up to her. ,,How dare you making me wait so long!" I scoffed and laughed at her, pulling back the chair opposite her, before sitting down.
,,Don't be so dramatic. It's been what? 10 Minutes?"
,,Twenty." She looked at me annoyed. ,,I'd die for a coffee!", she whined, making me laugh. I looked around the small café, spotting the very familiar waitress and waving her over.
,,It's been some time! Where were you two!" Fina worked here almost every day after Uni and she loved it. You could tell. June and I came around everyday after work. One day we recognised her at a party and spend the whole night together. After that, she stuck around.
,,In Paris. At that magical fashion show Aurie took me to. I swear to you, those people are geniuses!" I chuckled as June went on about the newest event I had taken her to. We were lucky to be able experience most of it together. Fina listened carefully. She lived a quite simple life, but the glorious side of New York fascinated her. Even though it also intimidated her just as much.
,,One day I'll take you too, Fina.", I smiled at her.
,,Yes, but first you'll have to turn twenty-one.", June added. I shot her a playful glare. She was teasing the 19-year-old.
,,I'd love to.", Fina replied shyly, pushing loose blonde hair out of her face. Looking down at the piece of paper in her hands, she quickly changed the subject though. ,,So the usual? A latte and an Earl Grey?"
,,Exactly, Fini!" June grinned at her, while I laughed at them. They were so unbelievably different, but both had a very gentle heart. As Fina went back inside again, June rested her chin on her hands and watched me excitedly. ,,So, what will you say to your new client?", she smirked. I groaned thinking about it.
,,I really don't get what you find so special about her. She'll be like every other celebrity that I will work with and have worked with.", I looked away from her.
My job was mainly to manage and organise events surrounding fashion and cameras. Wether that were afterparties, fashion shows or videoshoots. It meant working with important and very famous people all the time. I couldn't allow myself to fangirl over anyone. How professional would that be?
,,Oh, come on!" June looked at me like I was mad. ,,That is Billie Eilish we're talking about, Aurie. She's not the average celebrity!"
,,And why's that?" I raised an eyebrow at her, as she put a cigarette between her lips and lit it.
,,Well, first of all, she's simply the best." Obviously. She pushed the package of cigarettes over to me. ,,And besides that, she's also the sweetest person ever." I smiled at my best friend.
,,I know, I know." Looking down at my fingers, I remembered the several interviews of her, that I had watched when I was in a darker place. There was something oddly comforting about her, to be fair. ,,But you know, I -"
"Have to stay professional. I know." I met her dark eyes again. She smiled, watching me light a cigarette for myself.
,,I don't want to even get excited."
,,About what?" Fina stepped up besides us, placing two cups on the small table.
,,I'll work with Billie Eilish tomorrow. Scared I'll mess it up." Biting my lips, I looked up at the blonde, who smiled so gently back at me.
,,You're great at your job, Aurie. Out of anyone, I'd trust you to organise something the most. Whatever the circumstances might be." I released my lower lip. ,,And even if she notices your nerves, Billie's the last one I'd expect to judge you for it."
