Scarlet doesn't know why Amy always comes to the football games. Her friend had said on many occasion that she hated football, and every other sport for that matter. When Scarlet had asked her if she wanted to try out for the cheer leading squad with her, Amy had absolutely gagged. She had still done it with her though, because she knew Scarlet was nervous and didn't want to do it alone. Only Scarlet got in, but only because Amy purposely acted weak, if only to avoid joining the cheer leading squad. Unlike what one would consider a typical "emo," Amy was not weak or angst-ridden. She was strong and stoic, and smart, and cool. At least to Scarlet. Scarlet didn't understand why Amy didn't have more friends now, in high school, when they had been friends with their entire class in middle school. Amy only started to dress in dark colors and change her look when they started high school, and though is surprised Scarlet, she never criticized or really asked why. So it as were, Amy became the local emo and Scarlet the cheer captain. They were the best of friends though, that never changed. They always sat together at lunch, and in the classes they had together(which had dwindled in numbers as grew older).
Another friend of Scarlet's, a shy boy named Simon, had once told her that the whole school found her friendship with Amy "cute" and that "they were a wonderful couple." Not that they were a couple, she had blurted out. They weren't dating! They aren't dating. Scarlet never thought about dating girls, she never really thought about dating anyone. But when ever she see's Amy sitting in the bleachers all decked out in black, only looking up from her phone to lock eyes with Scarlet, she can feel her heart flutter a little to much and her face go a little to red. Sometimes she wonders if Amy looks at her like boys do when she's in her uniform. Sometime she wonders what Amy's dark purple lipstick would taste like. Sometimes she wonders what Amy's hazel eyes would look like clouded with pleasure, or what her curly black hair would feel like clenched between her fingers. Sometimes she wonders if Amy is in love with her, because....she is definitely in love with Amy.
