The highschoolers of Bones Arrow sat on the warm grass outside of the school fields. Emma harp was sitting beside her best friend Isaac north. They sat on towels given by the school, staring at the town's busy work day. Other's chatted, and played while the soccer enthusiastic kids just played soccer by the fields. Victoria the high school mean girl sat and lavished in the sunlight. Her boyfriend Chad just played with the soccer ball beside her making tricks but didn't seem to impress her at all. Emma twirled a piece of her hair trying to see if it can curl, Isaac looked at a comic ignoring the chaos from behind. "Isaac, do you...Think we can survive our first semester?" she said, the wavy brown hair getting messier from the wind. Isaac put down the comic, fixed his glasses and looked at her: "Emma, we don't start until Monday. This is a free week, just getting used to our school." She sighed and looked at the sun. "Why are they making us camp here?" Isaac shrugged, they were told to bring camping gear because.. they were gonna see something amazing tonight. Wonder what it could be?
Emma took out her phone, checking the front side of her hair making sure the pink dyed parts are visible. Victoria put on her sunglasses and drank her pink lemonade. Chad finally sitting down and asking her those silly love questions. "Hey babe, should i dye my hair blonde?" Victoria slightly pulled down her sharp glasses. Looking him down and up. "Sure, make sure its light not dirt blonde, you do look ugly in red." She harshly spoke, but Chad didn't squeak out any insecurity from her words. Staying quiet, Emma looked over seeing the popular couple. She didn't think she'd meet one of those, but Bones Arrow is unique from what the town says. As the sundown started, they started setting up tents and Victoria obviously had a big tent while Chad was stuck with the smaller one, maybe if she was kind he could sleep with her. "Her tents so pretty, well i like my black one. Which did you get?" Emma smiled, while Isaac set up a blue tent slightly bigger then hers. "Something you wouldn't afford." He smirked. The smirk set off a tease alarm in her brain, she pouted and smacked one of the things holding the tent up, in frustration he ruffed her hair and they brawled for a few seconds until stopping. Both having messy hair, and one slightly down tent they made a truce and both tents were perfectly set up. A girl walked up, auburn hair. Black eyes, and a birth mark under lips, a bit to the left. Isaac looked up, as she handed him a comic. "Isaac, Emma," she smiled. Emma rushed into a hug. "Rory, don't scare us, i thought you wouldn't come!" Emma sighed, almost crushing Rory's bones in the hug. "Bones Arrow has the best field trips, and views. Why would i miss that?" She laughed, as Emma backed off. Isaac coughed for attention: "Well i KNEW you'd come, she's just paranoid." Rory smirked at that, taking out her phone as Emma once more in their friendship scolded him. She entered youtube, and played a small zombie growl scaring Emma into smacking onto the grass. "Woah, you almost hit this pretty face." He smiled. Emma brushed herself off, the tiny specks of grass stuck her jeans fell off easily. The darker brown eye, and the light blue eye was a match in heaven on her. The rose tinted lips, and mascara. Emma had mixed hair, sometimes straight sometimes wavy. Today was wavy, even after a wash.
"Rory," Emma said. Rory put down a towel beside them a bit away from the tents. "Yeah?" she responded, Emma fiddled with her fingers as Isaac walked into his tent fixing the sleeping bag. the small hill outside from the school fields was the best thing you can get. "Sometimes its.." she paused a bit. The hill wasn't the biggest, but gave a nice view of a sunrise/sunset and a view of the town. "Sometimes it's hard to picture the future, what happens? What can happen?" She spoke, looking down ignoring the sunset. Rory snapped pictures, while nodding to Emma's venting about the future. Finally Rory looked at her: "Don't focus on the future to much, but don't dwell on the past either. Go on how you want, and see how that goes." She smiled, Isaac crawled out and pointed at the sky: "Look guys, its starting!" many other students looked up, including Victoria and Chad. "The sky is purple? Is that all?" She sassed and laid down. Chad stared into the sky, like a puppy waiting for a command for his treat. "It's so pretty..." Emma exclaimed. Rory scootched closer and the three of them sat there. The odd purple sky, is this the event? All the scientist did was a purple sky? It was amazing, but camping for this? After a few minutes, people started going for bed. Emma stayed in her clothes, she felt...it was right to do so. No idea why just felt this moment needed her to stay. Isaac yawned: "Girl, It's soon time to sleep, get changed!" She just shook her head. Emma squinted her eyes: "What's that in the sky..? Is it.. green?" Isaac sat up staring to the green clouds over the town. "THE SKY'S TURNING GREEN!" he yelled. Many woke up and thought it was apart of the event. Some etched closer to the hill's end. Emma felt this was serious, the winds picked up. It got windier, faster. Gas started forming, and appeared to follow the winds path towards them. Screams sang in the towns songs. The storm, started. And it took everyone. "Get inside!" Emma yelled, Only few did, Chad desperately joined Victoria much to her anger. Rory disappeared. Emma snuck into her tent, closed it as only a little gas snuck into it. The gas had made it to them, it engulfed the town and now them. She managed to open her eyes before the storm shone a light. Isaac stood there, a scream and then drop.
