"Your feet hurt, don't they?" March approached me confidently while eagerly staggering his walk, similar to how I was walking earlier.

"Not at all." I tried to say in the midst of a welcoming rainstorm.

He walked closer to me and opened his arms, as if to catch me from falling. He always kept a careful distance when it came to touching me.

"Admit that you're wrong and I'll go easy on you."  March whispered, staring at the red marks from the tight-fitting high heels. Normally he offered a more brazen attitude when it came to his remarks, but he seemed soft in asserting that,

yes, I was wrong, and yes, I was in pain.

"Fine... I'm in pain. Won't someone be so kind as to save me? Poor little me." I let out an exhausted sigh from the pain wearing down on me.

"Good." was all he said before a small chuckle escaped. March's smile seemed to fade when his hands moved closer to me, and he began to look around the area we were in.

"What's got you so nervous?" I asked.

"Can I lift you up?" the words came quickly. March was staring at me and then at his hands with great repetition. I didn't say anything, which only made him fumble more on his words.

"Uh, I mean there's that ledge behind you. The one with the roof over it. well, I thought maybe I could lift you there and you could, uhm, rest your feet...?  There's not many places to sit in this area"

Again, I was silent. His arms stayed outstretched awkwardly around me. and well, I had to laugh.

"Why don't you just carry me home at that point?"

With the smile still on my face, I turned around and walked towards the ledge, eager to get some good rest.

When I looked back, I realized I was trapped between March and the cold stone behind me.

He placed his hands softly, one on my side and another on my back. He hesitated and studied my face, but I was stuck on my words. So I let out a small, sweet smile. He held me up gracefully and placed me down firmly, still holding on.

I averted his gaze when he stared at me intensely, but he kept pressing forward. He came close to my ear and his breath made me twitch a bit. He moved one of his hands to my head, soothing the tension in my body.

"Yeah, I think I'll do just that."

I immediately looked back at him. At his smile. That fucking smile.

We were silent for a while.

But when the rain ended, he kept his promise.
