I scrolled on my laptop as I tried to check for any updates or posts from the other boys. As I looked at their pages one by one, I couldn't help but worry about Zayn.

Even though he was the first to leave the band, I knew for sure that he had a soft spot for Liam and for mental health issues. After all these years, it was Zayn who had been struggling and was taking a big break. Now that he's slowly getting back on track, he just released his latest album and announced his UK and US tour. I can't quite imagine how devastated he is right now.

As I sat curled up on the couch, lost in my thoughts, my phone buzzed. The sound pulled me back to reality, and I reached for it, my heart racing with curiosity. The screen lit up.

From: Addison

Hey... 😢💔 I just wanted to reach out because I'm feeling a bit down. I saw the news about Liam and it hit me hard. I can't believe he's gone. I just feel so lost without him! 😞💔

Addison was my best friend during my one direction era, we always go to one direction meet and greets or sometimes organize club meets with other one direction fans. She's a Zayn's girl while I'm a solid Liam's girl lol. Well, actually my top three were 1.) Liam 2.) Zayn and then of course last but not the least, 3.) Harry. but of course, I love all of them equally.

After high school, Addison and I kind of fell out before college since we went to different universities. We seldom hear from each other, or let's just say that, like One Direction, we grew apart and took different paths. But still, it's nice to hear from her in times like this.

I know 😢 my heart is hurting so bad 💔, I've been thinking about Liam and the boys. I also remember our good times with the rest of the other 1D fans.

Same! 😞 let's meet up :( I just saw on twitter that other 1D fans will prepare a vigil at Hyde Park. Let's meet there love. x

I got up from my couch and lazily prepared. I got in the shower while playing 'Night Changes' by One Direction. Oh, it really hits different. I just want to sob with all this heavy feeling. My Liam is gone, just like that, in the blink of an eye. I was just watching all his Snapchat stories the other day, and now he's gone. I just can't process it.

After taking a shower, I had my early dinner, and just looking at my fork made me remember him again. Liam.

Liam used to eat cereal with just his fork. I almost chuckled at the thought of him—my 2012 Liam James Payne. Oh, I wish I could turn back time. If I could do anything for him as a fan, I'd do anything just to save him.

"I will be out for a while, I'm meeting Addison.. just need to have a breather" I told my sister, Bella. I quickly checked my reflection in the mirror, giving myself one last look before heading out the door. God, I look like a mess.

As I stepped outside, a gentle breeze greeted me, carrying the faint sounds of the city: laughter, distant music, and the rhythmic footsteps of passersby. I opened my phone and played another One Direction song, "Story of my Life."

As the sun began to set over Hyde Park, people started to gather, forming a circle of warmth and support. There were many flowers and posters of Liam everywhere.

As I rounded the corner, I spotted my best friend Addison waiting by the bench she's holding a flowers and a cut out picture of Zayn and Liam together, A wave of excitement and sorrow washed over me.. mixed feelings, and I quickened my pace, eager to close our distance.

"Sabbie!" She exclaimed, a half smile spreading across her face as she caught sight of me. In that instant, all the stresses of the day kind of melted away. Somehow.

"Addison... it's been so long since we last saw each other." I embraced her. the loneliness quickly subsided.

"Niall's birthday concert." We both chuckled in unison. I miss her, I miss my best friend.

We both scoot around and interact with other fans. Candles flickered in every corner of the place, casting a gentle glow on the faces of the fans that had come to honor a shared loss.

"Do you think he took his own life?" A sudden curiosity slipped out of her mouth. Concern etched into her features.

Without thinking, I shook my head, the movement almost instinctual.  I saw the signs, but I dismissed them, knowing Liam's personality was far from being suicidal.

"Never."

As the vigil commenced, a fan stepped forward, their voice steady but filled with emotion. They shared heartfelt reflections, and memorable encounters with Liam Payne.

A fan recalls how Liam inspired her to paint. One thing about Liam is that he was an artist; he loves art, and painting is one of his favorite hobbies. Liam always makes sure to encourage his fans to follow their passions.

One by one, attendees were invited to light a candle, each flame representing a cherished memory. The soft glow illuminated the park, symbolizing hope amid darkness. Some wiped away tears, while others smiled at the memories shared, finding solace in the collective experience.

One Direction music played softly in the background, creating an atmosphere of reflection. The sounds of gentle chords filled the air, echoing the emotions that enveloped the gathering. It feels like a mini reunion concert, only Liam was gone.

As night fell, the stars began to twinkle above, a reminder of the light that endures even in the darkest of times. I can't help but think of Liam. If Liam could see us now, I bet he is smiling down on us fans.
