Chapter one

POV:???

I hold her hand, "are you ready?" I take a deep breath in, looking into her eyes.
She nods her head slowly, "I pray our babies are safe." She expresses, as we both look down at large fall. I squeeze her hand in a reinsuring way, "they're better off without us."

We jump.

POV: Katelyn

I jump up gasping for air.
"Come on Kat, that really all you got?" My coach questions, eyeing me. I go sit down at the bench for a break.

"I'm sorry coach, something off today!" I explained, my knee was getting worse but I couldn't stop training as track was my one way ticket to collage.

I try to stand but my knee buckles and I fall to the ground, "Ah, dang!" I cried out as my leg hit the concrete. I hear people run over to check up on me, but the coach shoos them away.

She gently puts her hand on my shoulder, and starts speaking yet I couldn't hear a single thing properly. My vision starts to blur just I start to realise I'm gonna faint.

*Time skip*

My eyes open adjusting to the lights, i look around to see where I am only to be met with a handsome face.
I gasp "Who are you?" I question the boy, he looks at me peculiarly as if he's trying to put a name to my face but then he smiles showing off his pearly white teeth.
"The names James! What's yours? You don't look familiar, are you new? Sorry if you're not I just haven't seen you around and I know everyone!" He rambles on as I just stare blankly at him.
His eyes rounds "Oh my god, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to ramble like that." He states.
"It's all good, my name is Katelyn and no I'm not new been here for 2 years." I explained.
He quickly apologised for his mistake.
"Um James, where are we?"
"Right! Sorry, we're in the teachers office since the schools nurse room was busy. A lot of people were sick today, rumour said there was a dead rat in the cafeteria soup today. So thankful I bring my own food"

Im just about to ask how I got here but then someone knocked, Both me and James look to see who it was as a head peaked through the gap.
Another unfamiliar face? His dark brown hair is lazily combed and fluffed out unlike James where his is a big fluff ball, looks like he didn't even try to style it. The stranger doesn't even look in my direction, as he just stares at James as if they're having a conversation without words.
James looks back at me "Well I got to go Katelyn, it was nice meeting you! We should totally hang out sometime."
I nod in agreement as the stranger speaks,
"There's actually a party going on tomorrow you should come!"
James looks excited, "oh right! I forgot about that, here give me your number and I'll send you the details!"
"Dude, she didn't even say if she wants to go" the stranger looks at me, as if he's waiting for an answer "do you want to?" He asks.

I'm about to answer but James cuts me off before I could.
"Whatever Kenny, she's going whether she wants to or not!" He exclaimed, I look at him eyebrow raised in a questioning manner.
I sigh "I'll go, but what's the dress code?" I ask.

James eyes light up, "It's fancy! But casual at the same time, you know?"
No I don't know, but I'll figure it out.
"Okay give me your phone number and you can send me the details when you can!" I explained towards James. After that was done they both said their goodbyes and leave in a hurry, while I'm left here alone.
I stand up feeling a sting in my knee but, I ignore to and look around. I spot my bag and water bottle, feeling a little bit more refreshed i picked my stuff up and walked out to try and find the lockers to change out of my sport clothing and get on with my day.

*Time skip*

I finally reach home exhausted, seeing that my parents were still not home from their work trip. I roll my eyes and whisper to myself.
"When can they be home?"
I walk up stairs to my room and practically jump into my bed, kicking off my shoes and pulling my blanket over myself.
I turn on my phone to see a text from an unknown number, realising it was James texting me the details of where the party's at.
I'm kind of excited to go as it is one of the first parties I'm going to! I reply back with a double thumbs up emoji, and change his contact name to James.
I scroll through my contacts and click on an old familiar one. I wonder how he's doing? I shake my head trying to remove those thoughts, then a i hear a knock at the door, I quickly look outside my bedroom window to see a recognisable face. I run down stairs to open the door.
"Hold on! I'll be there in a sec." I shout as I trip on the carpet and a sharp pain flies through my leg. I hiss, trying to walk quickly to the door. Opening it, I see Kenny?
"Hi! Kenny, right?" I greet him,
"Uh no, it's Kennith, James just calls me that." He states awkwardly.
"Oh I'm sorry! Didn't know, would you like to come inside? Wait actually how did you know where I live?" I ask accusingly.
He puts his hands up, "don't worry! We're neighbours, I guess we never greeted each other?"
I sigh, smiling I invite him. He gratefully accepts.
"Look I came here because of James." Kennith admits, I look at him weirdly.
"Now don't take this the wrong way but I looked at your grades and they're amazing!" He continues "and James doesn't do too well at school. I'm wondering if you could tutor him? Now you don't have to accept but he really needs to get his grades up or he won't graduate." I'm stunned.
"And what would I get out of doing this? Plus why can you do it?" I'm confused. He looks at me guilty with his beautiful brown eyes.
"I've tried! He just doesn't listen and then in the end we just end up hanging out. And you can have whatever you want, I'm really good at cooking! I could make you lunches like I do with James, just so you don't have to eat the cafeteria food." He pleaded.
I nodded happily! If foods involved I'll gladly take it.
"Meet me in the library tomorrow, I'll start tutoring him there. Don't forget to bring that food!" I warned, he nodded and thanked me then we said our goodbyes.
