Author's POV:
It had been a week since Zoya had left Zaviyar's office abrubtly, which in return caused him to go after her and make sure she is fine. He noticed how her eyes expressed her inner turmoil, but still, he decided not to talk about it, considering the fact she had just started opening up about her life, her past.
She needed time, and he was ready to give all of his to her. She had also noticed how Zaviyar used to be extra affectionate around her after the incident, which only made her hide her secret more. She knew that if Zaviyar got to know about all that happened, he'd kill her torturer in the most brutal way possible. And it could also ruin their relationship.
Currently, he was sitting on his study's sofa, working with full focus on his email. He didn't see when and how, but his two monkey-like friends plopped onto the couch beside him, nudging him by their elbows. He was bewildered upon seeing their creepy smiles and hated how they managed to always break into his house.
"What is wrong with you both?!" He huffed, annoyed.
"Leave us, we've heard you're roaming around sweetie pie's house a lot these days?" Shayan smirked at him. Zaviyar wanted to rip off his face seeing that ugly smirk.
"Ye sweetie pie kya hai? Kitni baar kaha hai na, Zoya hai naam uska," Zaviyar was extremely irritated.
(What's sweetie pie? I've told you so many times, her name is Zoya)
"Kasam se bohat badal gaya hai tu Zaviyar. Itni jaldi toh girgit rang nahi badalta jitni jaldi tu ne badal liya hai," Fawad added fuel to the fire buring in Zaviyar's heart.
(I swear you've changed a lot Zaviyar. Even a chameleon doesn't change it's colors at the speed you've changed yours)
"Can you guys shut up?" He didn't shout, but his low yet dangerous tone made both of them sure it was something serious. Their smiles faded as Shayan managed to ask, "Is everything good between you two, Zay?" Zaviyar looked at him, not forgetting how her eyes reflected the shattered side of hers.
"All is good between us but..." This time, Fawad asked with a very serious look on his face,
"Zoya theek hai?" This question made Zaviyar wonder...was she actually fine?
(Is Zoya fine?)
He thought for a moment before replying, "I have no idea yaar," They were confused. His tone was irritated, angry and concerned at the same time.
"Zaviyar, tell us the truth, Zoya's fine right?" Shayan asked this time, repeating Fawad's question.
Zaviyar then told them all that had happened. Their expressions were of concern and rage. The two men, who had grown extremely possessive over their soon to be sister in law, wanted to take revenge more than Zaviyar did. They had developed a soft spot for her as their sister long ago, and hearing about her being disturbed was one difficult thing.
"It's not difficult at all for me to find out every single detail," Zaviyar continued. "But I don't want to rush things for her. I understand that she hasn't shared anything about her past with anyone but Dania and Zavrina-"
Fawad's heartbeat increased rapidly, though he was unsure why.
"-and that doesn't mean I mind their presence in her life. It's obvious that for her, accepting new relationships will be difficult. But yaar, seeing her like that; dull and sad, I want to remove every fragment of her past that stabs her from the inside,"
Zaviyar finished with a huge sigh, very concerned for Zoya. He didn't stop there, but continued, "From the past week, I haven't been able to concentrate on work. The way I saw pain in her eyes, in the same way she saw pain in mine long ago, I hate it. I hate it that I can't do anything for her, despite wanting to,"
