Scene 1: The Audition Room
The room was bustling with tension. Actors lined the walls, clutching scripts and rehearsing lines under their breath. Dunk took a deep breath, surveying the scene. The casting directors sat at a long table at the far end, their expressions blank and unimpressed as they scanned resumes and headshots.
Dunk straightened his back. This role could be a game-changer. It was a high-profile drama, and landing the lead could elevate his career to a level he'd been dreaming of for years. He had worked hard to prepare, and he could feel the weight of every rehearsal, every sleepless night, pushing him forward.
But then, his gaze caught something—or rather, someone. A guy across the room who seemed completely relaxed, casually chatting with one of the assistants. Dunk squinted, his eyes narrowing.
Joong Archen.
Dunk had heard about him. Joong was charming, confident, and seemingly always in the right place at the right time. Even now, the way he smiled—effortless, confident, like he already had the role in the bag. Dunk couldn't help but think Joong was trying to charm his way into the casting director's good graces. Dunk turned back to his script, determination flooding him. If Joong wanted this role, he'd have to fight for it.
Scene 2: First Impressions
The audition process felt like a blur. Dunk was called in right after Joong, which didn't help his mood. He could hear laughter coming from inside the room while Joong auditioned. Dunk frowned, trying to block it out.
When his name was finally called, Dunk stepped into the room, all smiles and energy. He tried to shake off the nerves and focus on his performance, pouring every ounce of himself into each line. The casting panel watched quietly, their expressions giving away nothing. Dunk glanced over and spotted Joong standing to the side, his arms crossed, watching.
Joong gave him a little smirk.
Dunk's resolve hardened. He wouldn't let himself be outdone.
Scene 3: Waiting Room Tension
Back in the waiting area, Dunk slumped into a chair. He glanced up to see Joong approaching. Joong had that same confident smile plastered on his face.
"Good job in there," Joong said, sitting next to him.
Dunk tried to keep his tone neutral. "Thanks. You too." He didn't want to admit that he'd overheard the laughter during Joong's audition.
Joong leaned back casually. "You know, I think we might be seeing more of each other," he said, almost as if he knew something Dunk didn't.
Dunk raised an eyebrow. "What makes you so sure?"
Joong just smiled and shrugged. "Call it intuition."
Dunk rolled his eyes. He had to admit, Joong was charming, but that only made Dunk want to prove himself even more.
Scene 4: The Callback Announcement
A week later, Dunk found himself standing outside the audition building, reading an email that had just arrived.
"Congratulations, Dunk! You've been cast in the lead role of Destined Horizons: สานฝันสู่ดวงดาว (San Fun Su Duang Dao)."
He read it twice just to be sure. He had made it! He let out a breath of relief, the tension he'd carried all week finally leaving him. But as he continued reading, his smile faltered.
"We are pleased to inform you that Joong has been cast as your co-lead. The chemistry read between you two was outstanding, and we can't wait to see the magic unfold on screen."
