Chenle's curious gaze lingered on Jiwon's radiant face. "You're glowing - did something good happen?" he Muttered.
Jiwon's brow rose in inquiry, accompanied by a faint smile. "What do you mean?" she asked, her tone playful. Chenle's eyes sparkled with amusement. "You're smiling like an idiot ever since you arrived, Ji," he pointed out, his words making Jiwon's smile falter.
She hastily waved it off, attempting nonchalance. "Maybe it's because we're getting holidays soon? Yeah, that must be the reason," she replied, her tone casual.
However, Chenle wasn't convinced. "I'm not stupid, Jiwon," he said, his voice laced with conviction. "I've grown up with you long enough to know when you're truly happy."
His words made Jiwon sigh, acknowledging his perceptiveness. She nodded discreetly, beckoning him closer.
As Chenle leaned in, his brows furrowed in anticipation. Jiwon's voice dropped to a whisper, her words barely audible. "Me and Eunseok" she trailed off, pausing for a fleeting moment before completing her sentence. "Are finally together now."
"What the fuck" Chenle's high-pitched yell reverberated through the room, prompting Jiwon's eyes to dart around nervously, ensuring they were alone. She nodded, a soft smile spreading across her face, confirming the news.
Chenle's expression transformed in an instant, shock giving way to unbridled excitement. "Finally!" he exclaimed, his whisper tinged with joy, unable to contain his elation.
Jiwon's hands swiftly covered Chenle's lips, silencing him. "Shh, not so loud," she pleaded, her eyes sparkling with mirth.
"It's so weird, oh my god, I can't believe it – I'm finally in a relationship?" she muttered, her voice filled with wonder. Chenle grinned, his eyes shining with happiness, as he wrapped Jiwon in a warm hug.
Just then, the door swung open, and Eunseok walked in, his gaze locking onto Jiwon and Chenle's embracing figures.
Chenle nonchalantly chirped, "I guess not the right timing?" Jiwon's face flushed, but she couldn't help but flash a wide smile upon sensing Eunseok's presence.
"Hey," she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper. Eunseok's gaze lingered on Chenle before shifting to Jiwon, his expression softening from dragging glares at the poor guy.
"I was searching for you" he said flatly, his tone laced with gentleness. Jiwon nodded, her smile unwavering.
Eunseok's eyes never left Jiwon's face, his gaze burning with intensity. Chenle, sensing the charged atmosphere, discreetly extricated himself from the hug, his eyes darting briefly at Eunseok before leaning in to whisper a parting warning.
"I'll leave you two alone,". As he pulled back, his gaze locked onto Eunseok's, his expression serious. "Please take care of her," he demanded, his tone low and urgent, imparting a deep sense of responsibility.
Eunseok's response was immediate and reassuring. "Always," he replied, his voice firm and resolute, his eyes never leaving Chenle's. The single word conveyed a depth of commitment, a promise to cherish and protect Jiwon.
Chenle's gaze lingered on Eunseok's face, searching for any sign of doubt or hesitation. Finding none, he nodded, seeming to accept Eunseok's vow.
With throwing a triumphant smile at Jiwon , Chenle turned and quietly slipped out of the room, leaving the couple alone.
