"Who do you think you are?
Why are you hanging my heart and shaking it?
It's making me dizzy"Eunseok approached Jiwon, his gaze falling upon her thin clothing, and his brow furrowed in concern. The air conditioner hummed softly in the background, and the chilly weather outside seemed to seep into the room.
"Why are you always so cold?" he spat worriedly, his hands moving to drape his leather jacket over her shoulders. He zipped it up until her chin, fingers brushing against her skin.
As he ruffled her hair gently, his eyes locked onto hers, filled with affection. "Why were you searching for me?" Jiwon asked, her voice casual. Eunseok shrugged, his expression sheepish. "I missed you" he admitted, his voice low.
Jiwon rolled her eyes, a hint of amusement dancing on her lips. "We just met six hours ago, Eunseok" she said nonchalantly, packing her bag.
Eunseok complained, his tone playful. "That's the point, angel. Six whole hours. How am I supposed to stay away from you for that long?" His words made Jiwon gasp.
"Oh my god, you're so dramatic" she exclaimed, shaking her head. Eunseok's grin faltered for a moment before he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close.
Jiwon's heartbeat accelerated as she melted into Eunseok's embrace, her chest pressed against his. The rhythmic pounding of their hearts, beating in unison, was almost palpable. "It's so weird" she murmured, her voice muffled by the clothing.
Eunseok's gentle inquiry, "What is?" vibrated through her, sending shivers down her spine.
"You hugging me" she replied, her words barely audible. Eunseok's chest rumbled with a low chuckle, resonating deep within her.
Yet, despite the initial awkwardness, Jiwon found solace in his arms. "But it's calming me," she whispered, her eyes drifting shut as she surrendered to the warmth.
As she relaxed, Eunseok's hold tightened, his arms cradling her with tender care. The world around them melted away, leaving only the soothing rhythm of their entwined hearts.
Eunseok's voice broke the comfortable silence between them. "Are you heading home now?" he inquired, his eyes searching hers. Jiwon shook her head, her response laced with fatigue.
"I think I'm going to the cafe or library at my university to study for my mid-terms," she lazily muttered, already feeling overwhelmed by the looming exams.
Eunseok released her from the hug, his expression curious. "Why don't you study at home?" he asked. Jiwon's shoulders sagged slightly as she admitted.
"I don't know, I guess I procrastinate a lot at home." Memories of endless hours spent sleeping or mindlessly scrolling through her phone flooded her mind.
Before she could dwell on it further, Eunseok offered, "You can come over to my place today." His smile was inviting, and his words tumbled out with ease.
"You're always welcome to Riize Quarters, angel." Jiwon's brow rose in surprise. "You live with them?" she asked.
Eunseok nodded, his gaze drifting into the past. "Everything changed after my mom passed away," he began, his voice tinged with nostalgia. "It felt better with the boys." His eyes clouded over, memories of his struggles evident. Yet, as he spoke of the boys, his face softened.
"They didn't completely pull me out of my misery, but they lightened my mood." His voice trailed off, and he smiled faintly. "They really are my family."
"They do really seem welcoming and chaotic, despite being mafias" Jiwon observed, her hands deftly tying her ponytail. Eunseok's gaze followed her movements, a warm smile spreading across his face. "I'm glad you had them, Eun" she added, her voice sincere.
Eunseok's expression softened, his eyes misting over with nostalgia. "Remember when I used to tie your hair?" he asked, his voice tinged with fondness. Jiwon's hands stilled, a faraway look in her eyes.
He recalled those moments vividly – the days he spent practicing the delicate art of tying her hair, determined to master it. Whenever her mother was busy, he would step in, his fingers carefully weaving through Jiwon's locks. The memory brought a gentle smile to his lips.
"Then I'd ruin it just two hours later" Jiwon chuckled, her grin mischievous. Her younger self had been a whirlwind of energy, always getting into mischief. Eunseok's light chuckles joined hers, their shared past binding them closer.
Jiwon's voice was filled with warmth as she spoke, "It was always the same" Eunseok hummed in agreement, his eyes crinkling at the corners as memories flooded his mind.
"You always took care of me, just like now" she continued, her smile widening, showcasing her gratitude for her dependable best friend, now boyfriend. Eunseok's expression turned serious, his voice filled with conviction. "And I'll always do, angel. I mean it," he promised, his words reassuring.
Their gazes locked, and Jiwon's expression shifted, a mischievous glint sparkling in her eye. "It should be otherwise now," she stated, her voice firm.
Eunseok raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her sudden declaration. "It should be me taking care of you" she explained, her tone confident.
Eunseok's laughter was instant, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You always need someone to supervise you, angel," he teased, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
"No one can protect me," he added, his grin wicked. Jiwon's lips turned downward, her pout adorable. "I can take care of myself, bastard," she spat, trying to sound stern.
Their playful banter continued, with Eunseok laughing and Jiwon glaring. "You're a bastard, Eun" she exclaimed, exasperation lacing her tone. Eunseok's smile softened, his eyes filled with affection.
"You're so naive, angel," he replied, his voice gentle. Their laughter erupted simultaneously, filling the air with joy and warmth.
