𝕬melia smirked, her eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and curiosity as she watched Cale collapse into unconsciousness, her mask as a kind princess fading away.

"Oh, Roksu, don't be so naive. He is remembering, whether you like it or not. His soul is waking up."

Roksu clenched his jaw, staring down at Cale, his expression filled with a mix of frustration and desperation. "It's not supposed to be like this," he muttered under his breath, kneeling beside Cale's now trembling form. Gently, he adjusted Cale's position so he could lie more comfortably.

"Why do you care so much?" Amelia asked casually, leaning back as if she were observing a mildly interesting play. "He's just another broken soul. It's not like you didn't know this might happen."

Roksu shot her a glare, his usually calm demeanor cracking. "Shut up, Chasina. You don't understand anything."

Amelia—No, Chasina's lips curled into a knowing smile.

"Oh, but I do, dear brother. I understand everything. You think you can save him, don't you? That somehow he will be different from all the others."

"Enough." Roksu's voice was low and dangerous, but she only laughed.

"You're so predictable, Alaric. You always think you can change fate. That you can control everything. But you and I both know the truth. Cale isn't him. He'll never be."

Roksu—No, Alaric's hands balled into fists as he tried to steady his emotions. He couldn't let her get to him, not now. Not when Cale was like this.

His mind raced, trying to figure out what had triggered the sudden memory surge. It wasn't supposed to happen this soon. Cale wasn't supposed to remember anything from his past life, not yet.

He glanced at Cale's pale face, his chest rising and falling unevenly. The faint red aura that surrounded him flickered weakly, as a warning that it's better not to wake him up.

Chasina, or Amelia, as her human name is, stood and stretched lazily, as if the whole drama that was happening bored her.

"Well, if you're going to play nursemaid, I'll leave you to it. Just remember, brother." She leaned in close, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Cale might not be the one you're hoping to see."
