HOOKED (CHAPTER 12):
DOUBT

༻❁༺

You're jolted awake by the loud noise coming from Tiffany's phone next to you. You groan, feeling the sharp ache of your head.

"Oh, hey! Good morning, sleepyhead," Tiffany chirps, barely glancing away from her screen.

You grunt and pull the blanket over your head, trying to block out her cheerful voice. "Tiff, turn it down..." you murmur, your voice thick with sleep.

Tiffany doesn't respond immediately, and a moment passes in silence.

Then, it hits you. Why is she here?

Your eyes snap open, and you whip around to face her. "What the hell are you doing here!?"

You shoot upright, your heart racing. The blanket slides down, and you quickly scan yourself — thankfully, you're not naked. The foggy memory of Atsumu slips back into focus, reminding you of what happened before you fell asleep.

Running a hand through your hair, you blink, trying to clear your head. Tiffany is watching you with a smirk, clearly amused by your disoriented state.

"How'd you sleep?" she asks, her voice full of teasing sarcasm.

"Where's...?" you start to ask, your voice trailing off as confusion sets in.

You ignore the question, glancing around the room. The clock reads 8:46 PM, and the sky outside is completely dark. There's no sign of Atsumu anywhere. Even his uniform that was previously laying around the floor is gone. 'What time did he leave? Why didn't he wake me up?' You could almost pout inside your head.

Tiffany cocks her head, pretending to think. "Where's... who?"

You groan and fall back onto the bed, rubbing your temples. "How did you even get in here?" you ask, though you're pretty sure she used the spare key to your apartment that you gave her... or so you thought.

"Atsumu let me in,"

And with that, your heart drops.

You sit up again, feeling a wave of panic. "What?!"

Tiffany barely holds back a laugh. "Yeah, he even prepared you a meal and a rose. Pretty cute, right?"

"Wait, wait..." You cut her off, but you can't form a word to say to her.

Tiffany notices your state of panic, so she rolls her eyes.

"Caught you redhanded, didn't I?" She scoffs, flopping herself down the bed.

You look down at her, your mind still spinning and your heart racing. The fact that Tiffany caught Atsumu in your apartment is sinking in, but you can't seem to piece together any coherent thoughts. You've already told her about him, but having her see it firsthand feels like an entirely different level of embarrassment.

Words jumble in your head, but nothing comes out. You're just staring at her, speechless, trying to figure out what to say.

Tiffany raises an eyebrow, clearly amused by your flustered reaction. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost," she teases, but you're still too thrown off to respond properly.
