Surprise!

Chapter Thriteen

"Pake..." Reba smiled uneasily as she hugged her older brother. "Hey Red." Pake pulled his lower half away from her stomach, the baby was kicking and it made him feel uncomfortable.

Susie and Reba sat on one side of the booth while Alice squished Pake into a corner on the other side. "Damn Alice give me some room" he whined "Who said that I had to? I'm the oldest." She sassed back, causing him to get even more frustrated. "They bicker like that all the time." Susie whispered to Reba "I know, I've only been gone a few months." Reba whispered back as she smiled. Susie giggled "Right, sorry." "So Red, how have you been?" Alice ask as she hit Pake in the shoulder. "I'm doing good." She answered. "How's Narvel? You driven him insane yet?" Pake joked, even though he hated Narvel for getting his little sister pregnant. Reba glared at him "No I haven't and he's fine." She started to smile. "How's the baby?" Susie butted in, she couldn't really get it through her head that it was a touchy subject in the family. "Oh um the baby's good." Reba said, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Alice kicked Susie under the table. "Ouch! What was that for?" Susie whined. "Don't talk about the baby." Alice whispered loudly...Reba heard. Reba couldn't help but get upset "Excuse me." She said standing up and rushing to the bathroom. Alice gave Susie the look."Let me go talk to her." Alice said getting up. "Well I wanna go too!" Susie protested. "Fine you can come." She said. Susie got up and followed Alice to the bathroom

Reba was crying and rubbing her belly
"They don't understand" Alice and Susie walked in quietly "Reba?" Alive called out. "Yea?" Reba wiped away a tear. "You okay?" Alice asked her younger sister, she shook her head no. "Aww honey come here." Alive walked up to Reba and wrapped her arms around her. Reba hugged her back and cried into her neck. "It's okay." Alice rubbed her back and rocked her side to side. "No it's not." She cried. "Why not? You have a man that worships the ground you walk on, you have two families, and a baby." Alice tried to knock some sense into her. "I'm scared Alice." She said. "I'm sure Narvel has everything under control." Alive assured her."What if I'm not cut out to be a mother?" She questioned. "Reba I've seen the way you've helped Susie. And you are only seventeen, you have time to learn." Alice kissed the top of her head. "If I messed up with her, I gave her back to mama. I'm the person that people will be giving this baby back too." Reba said. "Look, you have our mama and Narvel's mama to guide you, you'll do fine...and if you mess up just give them I Narvel." Alice joked Reba giggled "He's gonna a great daddy." She smiled."What do you expect, goofballs make the best dad's." Alice laughed."That's true." She smiled. Alice patted her knee "See, nothing to be worried about" "Thanks Alice." Reba smiled. "No problem." Alice helped her back to the table. They finished off the rest of their meals and Reba headed back to Narvel.

"Hey baby." Reba smiled. "Hey! How was lunch?" He asked. "Relieving." She said taking a deep breath, Narvel chuckled and helped her to their room. "I think the baby has a new hobby." Reba said. "What?" He smiled. "Beating up their Mama." She huffed. Narvel fake pouted as he laid down in his big comfy chair that he played video games in. "The baby doesn't like me." Reba sighed sadly. "They do." Narvel pulled her on his lap. Reba leaned into him and smiled, she just loved him so much. "Wanna try video games again?" Narvel smiled. "Why not." She shrugged. He handed her a controller and turned on his PlayStation. "What are we playin?" She asked. "Mortal Combat." Narvel shifted to a more comfortable position. "Is that the one when you blow people's head off?" She asked. "Sometimes." Narvel shrugged." Cool!" She said. Narvel laughed and rested his controller on top of her belly as he stretched. "It's a table." She said looking down at her belly. Narvel picked his controller back up "Thanks little man." Narvel said to her belly. "Little man huh?" Reba said. Narvel nodded "Do you know something I don't?" She smiled. "No." He shook his head. She kissed his cheek and faced the TV, "Ready?" He wrapped his arms around her. "Yep." She smiled. He started the fight and they played against each other. Reba was super competitive, but Narvel kept nudging her. "Stop that!" She whined."Why?" He whined. "You know I wanna win and I'm ticklish." Reba said. Narvel laughed and stopped nudging her "You're gonna lose McEntire." "No I'm not Blackstock!" She replied as he stepped up his game. "Oh come on baby" Reba smiled.  He smiled and went after her with full force. "Your gonna beat me." She said "That might be true." He smiled and they spent the rest of the day playing video games and having a good time.
