Seeing that it was about enough, Ye Yun decided not to push any further. Children shouldn't be taught to be too cunning, and it's important to preserve some of their natural kindness.
"Your Third Brother doesn't have a rabbit, but everyone else does. So, Jing'er, how about giving him one of yours? You don't want to keep fighting with your Third Brother, do you?"
The Fourth Prince nodded gloomily.
No one enjoys quarreling and fighting every day, after all.
"But I don't have any more rabbits," the Fourth Prince said.
Ye Yun smiled and patted his head. "Then where did Jing'er's rabbit come from? Go to the same person."
The Fourth Prince's eyes lit up.
"I'll go find Father!"
"Go ahead," Ye Yun smiled, then glanced at Bai Zhu. "Keep an eye on the Fourth Prince. He's still young, and he'll need your help to speak."
Bai Zhu, understanding completely, bowed and followed after the prince.
After the little one left, Ye Yun leaned back against the pillow, visibly tired.
Nanzhi poured her some tea. "The Third Prince is so awful, and yet you still ask the Fourth Prince to give him something. It really feels so unfair."
"It's not necessarily just Jing'er who will go." Ye Yun massaged her temples. She had a feeling that Yi Zhaoyuan wouldn't overlook this, and now it was just a matter of who acted first.
"You're still worrying about things while pregnant—Yi Zhaoyuan and her son are truly infuriating!"
Huiyue, looking sympathetic, walked over and knelt to massage Ye Yun's legs.
Ye Yun's expression turned cold.
"She's becoming more and more impatient. The more she tries to suppress me, the more it backfires on her. Could the Third Prince really get so upset over a rabbit? At most, children feel envious. I'm afraid it's because Yi Zhaoyuan has filled his head with all sorts of nonsense."
"He's only six years old! That can't be true," Nanzhi frowned.
"Children in the palace mature early. Growing up in an environment like this, you can't treat them like ordinary kids." Ye Yun sighed softly.
Once the children grow a little older, these disputes won't be easy to stop.
"Forget it. It's bound to happen sooner or later. Worrying more won't change anything. Help me inside to rest," Ye Yun waved her hand dismissively.
Huiyue nodded and helped her back inside.
Meanwhile, over in Tao Hua Bay, Yi Zhaoyuan was fuming.
"Why on earth did you provoke him? And even use your hands? How many times have I taught you that no matter how much you dislike someone, you must endure it on the surface! You need your father to see you as the most understanding among the princes!"
"And now look what happened—letting that little brat apologize first only made you look worse. How do you think this reflects on you in your father's eyes?"
The Third Prince had already felt wronged, and now, being scolded by his mother, he felt even more upset. His eyes filled with tears, but he stubbornly refused to lower his head.
"But Mother said as long as I study hard, it'll be fine."
"Studying is indeed important, but you can't neglect other things either. Keeping up appearances is just as crucial," Yi Zhaoyuan advised sincerely.
