We were the first heroes to return alive to Half-Blood Hill since Luke, so of course everybody treated us as if we’d won some reality TV contest. According to camp tradition, we wore laurel wreaths to a big feast prepared in our honour, then led a procession down to the bonfire, where we got to burn the burial shrouds our cabins had made for us in our absence.

Annabeth’s shroud was so beautiful – grey silk with embroidered owls – I told her it seemed a shame not to bury her in it. She punched me and told me to shut up.

Y/N had been taken by Dionysus and Chiron. I don't really know for what, but if I had to guess then to sort his sleeping arrangements and discuss his situation. I guess they wouldn't just come out and say 'Hey this is Y/N his father is a completely unknown god and he is from a different universe, play nice!'.

Being the son of Poseidon, I didn’t have any cabin mates, so the Ares cabin had volunteered to make my shroud. They’d taken an old bedsheet and painted smiley faces with X’ed-out eyes around the border, and the word LOSER painted really big in the middle.

It was fun to burn.

As Apollo’s cabin led the sing-along and passed out toasted marshmallows, I was surrounded by my old Hermes cabinmates, Annabeth’s friends from Athena and Grover’s satyr buddies, who were admiring the brand new searcher’s licence he’d received from the Council of Cloven Elders. The council had called Grover’s performance on the quest ‘Brave to the point of indigestion. Horns-and-whiskers above anything we have seen in the past.’ I asked him what happened to Y/N's hammer and he said he gave it to Chiron because he didn't seem thrilled about keeping a radioactive thing with hi,

The only ones not in a party mood were Clarisse and her cabinmates, whose poisonous looks told me they’d never forgive me for disgracing their dad.

That was okay with me.

Even Dionysus’s welcome-home speech wasn’t enough to dampen my spirits. "Yes, yes, so the little brat didn’t get himself killed and now hell have an even bigger head. Well, huzzah for that. In other announcements, there will be no canoe races this Saturday…"

Chiron then stood up and gestured for someone to come up beside him. It took me a moment to recognise him but it was Y/N who looked completely different. His eyes still shone a radioactive green, but the glow was complimented by slight shine of his platinum blond hair which lost any dullness and cascaded against his shoulders with slight curls. His face now clear of dirt and grime had a dusting of freckles across it. The brown rags he previously wore were replaced with a snug fitting white Camp Half-Blood shirt and a pair of jeans that slightly covered a pair of new shoes.

"Amongst the events today we have also gotten a new camper!" Chiron announced as he put a hand on Y/N's shoulder, "Due to special circumstances he will be staying in the Apollo cabin."

"Has he been claimed by Apollo?" A camper asked as others began to whisper amongst each other. "Or by anyone?"

"While his father is known." Chiron said slowly as a distant rumble was heard. "I myself am not at liberty to reveal it."

"Who is?" Another camper asked as a few started to grumble. "Why is he getting specail treatment?!"

Chiron raised his hands in quieting motion, "As I have said, I am not at liberty to say. However if Y/N or even his father see fit to let it be publicly known I cannot stop them. The inforation is theres and as such theres to do as they please with."

That made people all focus on Y/N, who was looking nervous from all the attention.

"My father... is uh..." Y/N shifted nervously, "He's the god of radiation..."
