It was like any normal day on the ship. Soldiers doing their duties as well as preparing to go back home after the Trojan War.Athena watched from above, proud of her warrior of the mind for leading this army to victory.
Just then, she felt someone's presence behind her.
"That's your kid, ain't it?"
Athena knew that voice anywhere. She sighed, looking over her shoulder and sure enough, her brother was there.
"Ares," she greeted, turning her gaze back to the soldiers.
The said god huffed and crossed his arms over his chest.
"What did you give him?" The God of War asked. "Moly?"
It was obvious that they were talking about the ship's captain, Odysseus.
It was Athena's turn to huff. "Do you know how Moly works, brother?"
"He just wouldn't win-"
"This is what you're pissed about."
It wasn't a question, and both of them knew that. Ares' eye twitched as the goddess in front of him struck a nerve.
"Shut up..." Ares gritted his teeth as he let his anger rise. "Just shut up!"
That got a rare smirk from Athena."What?" She raised a brow. "Are you angry that we won, brothe-"
Ares cut the goddess off with a piercing glare. Taking a breath, the god of war managed to calm himself down just a bit.
"You will regret this..."
"What, for winning fair and square?"
"You cheated!" Red eyes glowed as Ares made that declaration. "You gave that boy something to win, I just know it!"
Now that caused Athena to scoff. Her brother was reeking of envy, that made him easy to read like an open book.
"Fine," The goddess of wisdom gripped her spear, fully turning around to meet Ares' gaze. "Let's make a deal."
A deal? Now Ares was interested.
"What kind?"
"Pick."
Ares' expression went from curious to confused. "Pick?"
"A person." Ah, puzzle pieces were coming together one by one.
"...are you saying what I think you're saying?" The taller male uncrossed his arms, placing them on his hips instead.
The goddess nodded. "You pick your warrior. Then, after training them, they will battle. That way, you'll know that I didn't cheat. Just that my pupil relies on wit, therefore worthy of being a captain."
A confident smirk made his way to Ares' lips as he lent a hand out to the goddess.
"Deal."
At that, Athena shook the hand and parted, leaving Ares to think about who he should pick. His gaze darted to the ship and he let his eyes wonder.
